Just watching BBC news. They interviewed Fallon Fox who stated that there is no scientific advantage for a transitioned mtf athlete in women’s sports!
This is just so wrong!

I know!

I saw that…ive had to stop watching the news

The first little bbc news snippet was fine, i was quite surprised

But then 5 minutes later its done an about turn and fallon is on!

Abhannmor · 02/08/2021 10:23

Wow. How wrong can they be? Fox actually broke a woman's skull and boasted about it. The Beeb have an uphill task salvaging their reputation as a serious broadcaster for sure.

Signalbox · 02/08/2021 10:24

I wonder what FF means by "transitioned".

FF was critical of Veronica Ivy "talking nonsense" so they must have a definition of transition that goes beyond an announcement of new pronouns.

Well done Nicola from Fair Play for Women.

yourhairiswinterfire · 02/08/2021 10:24

Wtf?

So the BBC are prepared to report and block people on Twitter for objecting to males in women's sports, but they'll happily listen to a bio male who fought a woman and fractured her skull in just 2 minutes, then went on to brag about it?

GTF BBC Angry

Ninkanink · 02/08/2021 10:28

Didn’t Fox say something about ‘eggshell skulls’? Or was that someone else.

The BBC are truly despicable.

mum2jakie · 02/08/2021 10:28

Critical of the Fair Play for Women argument as being dehumanising!!! It was the most rational argument I've heard all day. But men's feelings are more important than women's aspirations and achievements obviously...

ImInACage · 02/08/2021 10:30

Is this the same dehumanising and reducing to body parts that we women have experienced in recent years? Birthing bodies, cervix owners etc

Floisme · 02/08/2021 10:35

No objection to Fox being interviewed as long as it's always pointed out that they broke a female opponent's skull - at least that's what I'd expect an impartial and publicly funded broadcaster to do.

MimiDaisy11 · 02/08/2021 10:36

I just complained about that though didn't realise who that was. I could have perhaps tolerated it if they've given air time to someone disagreeing who would have highlighted the issue but they didn't. One sided and ridiculous. Who do they take us for? Not to mention the reporter didn't point out that it was a male in female sports just the first time someone who changed gender is now competing in the opposite category. Yeah let's not hold our breath waiting on a female to appear in the men's sports.

PamDenick · 02/08/2021 10:37

I laughed when Natalie told us persons ‘far cleverer than l” could explain the rules better! No shit Ms Sherlock!

I have been meaning to stop paying the tv license for so long now. The only reason I haven’t yet done so is that I can’t be bothered with the hassle of their heavy-handed enforcers. But I can no longer in good conscience support the BBC in any way, shape or form.

I haven’t watched television in several years, at all. And I never will again. So I’m cancelling.

PamDenick · 02/08/2021 10:38

It’s very easy to put in a complaint to the BBC.

OP posts:
PamDenick · 02/08/2021 10:39

And it’s pretty easy to cancel your licence fee.

Dr Nic Williams was cogent and clear, and the BBC presenter didn't even give her the courtesy of a goodbye, they just cut straight to a TW and the BBC presenter said 'That was dehumanising wasn't it?' and gave the TW a lead in to just grandstand about the idea of women's sport being based on bodies being about treated people like cells in a petri dish. Then a subsequent string of gentle questions and the TW allowed to ramble through buzzwords for ages.

Absolutely disgraceful behaviour from the BBC. I thought they might have tried to gloss over Hubbard, but they're going all out to shit all over women. I'm still horrified at the presenter's comments.

Jackgrealishscurtains · 02/08/2021 10:45

For anyone who doesn't know, this is what Fallon Fox has said on Twitter before now.

Floisme · 02/08/2021 10:46

the BBC presenter said 'That was dehumanising wasn't it?'
The BBC presenter said that?
The BBC?
I just want to make sure I've got this correct.

mum2jakie · 02/08/2021 10:48

@Floisme

the BBC presenter said 'That was dehumanising wasn't it?' The BBC presenter said that? The BBC? I just want to make sure I've got this correct.
Yep - "pretty dehumanising, isn't it?" was her opening comment when introducing the opposing 'argument'. So biased it's unbelievable
cariadlet · 02/08/2021 10:49

What channel was it on and what time? I'd like to try and watch it on I-player and then complain to the BBC.

Helleofabore · 02/08/2021 10:50

@Ninkanink

Didn’t Fox say something about ‘eggshell skulls’? Or was that someone else.

The BBC are truly despicable.

I know J Fae uses that term.
Floisme · 02/08/2021 10:51

Do we know the presenter's name?

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind · 02/08/2021 10:53

I've had to keep repeatedly coming off Mumsnet this week, the threads on here have made me so upset and angry at what is being done to women and how things have gone backwards so rapidly. It gets too much at times.

I hate the feeling of helplessness. The BBC really can get to fuck, the standard of journalism is shocking these days. They don't give a shit about women. The only thing that makes me feel better is praying that in years to come we can drag out all of these examples of disgusting 'journalism' that go completely against biological reality and common sense and we can laugh at the idiots responsible.

Ribboning time. With 'Laurel Hubbard is a MALE CHEAT' written all over them.

KittenKong · 02/08/2021 10:56

To (Mis)quote Mandy Rode Davis “...would say that wouldn’t...” did they mention FF ending the career if a woman competitor who didn’t know their background before she entered the ring?

Ninkanink · 02/08/2021 10:57

@hella ah right, thanks for clarifying.🌻

PamDenick · 02/08/2021 11:02

Please complain.
