Just watching BBC news. They interviewed Fallon Fox who stated that there is no scientific advantage for a transitioned mtf athlete in women’s sports!
This is just so wrong!

OP posts:

Fallon Fox interview is with Lucy Hocking in Tokyo.
Nic Williams was with Victoria Fritz in BH Newsroom.

IvyTwines2 · 02/08/2021 12:03

"Sounds pretty dehumanising, that it's about sex not about feelings."

It's sports! It's all about the body and what it can do, not feelz! Looking forward to 2024, by which time we'll probably have Bronies in the Equestrian.

KevinBaconsJeans · 02/08/2021 12:10

If anyone fancies making another complaint... BBC again, making out that these runners are female when - if you look at the participation rules - they must be genetically male.

If you think BBC is bad then you should try CNN where they don't just drink the Kool-Aid, they swim in it:

BaronMunchausen · 02/08/2021 12:14

"Sounds pretty dehumanising, that it's about sex not about feelings."

What a truly bizarre statement!

In any context, but especially in the context of women's sport.

EyesOpening · 02/08/2021 12:21

@PamDenick

I laughed when Natalie told us persons ‘far cleverer than l” could explain the rules better! No shit Ms Sherlock!
Considering the supposed importance of pronouns, you’d expect the correct one to be used: far cleverer than ME
EyesOpening · 02/08/2021 12:23

@cariadlet

Just found the Fallon Fox interview. It starts at 10.04. Time for another complaint to the BBC.
Is that on the BBC too?
BaronMunchausen · 02/08/2021 12:24

@yourhairiswinterfire

Wtf?

So the BBC are prepared to report and block people on Twitter for objecting to males in women's sports, but they'll happily listen to a bio male who fought a woman and fractured her skull in just 2 minutes, then went on to brag about it?

GTF BBC Angry

I saw that statement, and the reaction on Twitter.

Was it aimed at people objecting to males in women's sport?

I am probably missing something (don't know my way around Twitter), but Hate Won't Win goes back a long way and was primarily conceived in relation to racism??

cariadlet · 02/08/2021 12:25

Yes, it was on BBC2. It was very brief. Fallon Fox talking to camera and no questions from an interviewer.

cariadlet · 02/08/2021 12:26

My last post was a reply to @EyesOpening

hella · 02/08/2021 12:31

@Ninkanink huh? What have I clarified? I am not part of this thread and have not even commented. You must be referring to someone else. Helleo... perhaps?

Payfrozen · 02/08/2021 12:39

Radio 4’s coverage this morning was better. The male sports correspondent said something like
“LH is 43 and not a very good weightlifter but the issues are much wider... “

Ohsugarhoneyicetea · 02/08/2021 12:51

The woman who has her head cracked open by Fox didn't even know she was competing against a male. That should be criminal.

AmericanSlang · 02/08/2021 12:54

This is MMA fighter Fallon Fox, who identifies as a trans woman, fighting Tamikka Brents.

Brents suffered a concussion and a fractured skull and had to receive 7 staples to the head.

Last year Fox tweeted, "I enjoyed it. I love smacking up [TERFs] in the cage." t.co/YeweDdxTko

This Fallon Fox, who boasts about physically assaulting women & enjoying it? Wtf is happening at the BBC? Today they have also tweeted out a piece of absolute propaganda on Hubbard followed by an attempt at suppressing dissenting opinion worthy of North Korea. I have supported & defended the license fee my entire adult life, no more - the BBC are a disgrace to journalism

FemaleAndLearning · 02/08/2021 12:55

And will they stop saying it is complex! It is not complex.
Female BBC reporter saying (end of session on BBC1 before lunchtime news) that the situation is complex and that Laurel Hubbard has met all the criteria and her hormone levels are the 'correct level'.
What they don't tell you is that his levels are still normal for a male and not on par with female testosterone which are much, much lower.

BridgeOfLies · 02/08/2021 13:07

I've submitted my complaint too, on 2 counts. Bias by a presenter, and interviewing Fallon Fox for an opinion (I quoted that tweet by FF, so thank you for that).

beastlyslumber · 02/08/2021 13:25

Fucking hell. I'm so appalled. I don't know what to say. This is horrible.

Ninkanink · 02/08/2021 13:27

@hella ah sorry that was a STUPID auto ‘incorrect’! Sorry for tagging you!

QuarantineQueen · 02/08/2021 13:52

This is making me rage. Where do I complain?

LizzieSiddal · 02/08/2021 13:56

Sky News just had a Swedish Professor on who stated nothing can get rid of the advantage men have, once they’ve gone through puberty. It was on around 10 mins ago.

Sorry I didn’t get a chance to watch anymore, just caught that bit.

highame · 02/08/2021 14:11

My guess is the BBC doesn't care. All this will be aired, they will then uphold the complaint, after months by which time it will no longer matter.

We are either watching the end of women's sport, or the beginning of fairness - any guess as to what will happen?

QuarantineQueen · 02/08/2021 14:26

I've complained. Please everyone complain and let the BBC know that we won't stand for this.

Yousexybugger · 02/08/2021 14:39

Complaint sent

BridgeOfLies · 02/08/2021 14:47

Here's the link to the BBC complaints process: www.bbc.co.uk/contact/complaints

BaronMunchausen · 02/08/2021 14:47

What time and programme was the Fritz/Washington exchange?

Was it BBC News bulletin - on the News Channel or BBC2?
