Standing by for the inevitable backlash...

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 19/07/2021 14:22

Oh my! DH is off to buy cold things (Also sweltering in Scotland!) so I shall add the times to his list Grin

And dig a bit more for FWS I always feel sure they put every penny to good use ♥️

Megasausagehead · 19/07/2021 14:22

And apology no doubt

colouringindoors · 19/07/2021 14:23

Awesome! Bring it on!

PandorasMailbox · 19/07/2021 14:31

@Shedbuilder

I wonder who paid for the page? Really can't imagine the Times offering it for free. Is it Posie and Standing for Women?
It's a collaboration between Standing for Women and or Women Scotland.

As far as I know, it's in the Scottish version so that'll cause a few ructions in the ranks Grin

Brilliant.

PandorasMailbox · 19/07/2021 14:32

Sorry, should say *For

That's brilliant. It's a genius move to quote the dictionary definition and then explain why some people find it offensive.

Especially as most people have not one single clue.

RoseAndGeranium · 19/07/2021 14:38

I dumped my Guardian sub this morning. It was through Apple so there was no way of saying why, so I plan to email later this evening to tell them how abhorrent I find their one-sided and misogynistic approach to trans rights issues. The Times has been a beacon of light by contrast.

Veeta · 19/07/2021 15:06

Another one here who used to subscribe to the Guardian, and now gets the Times. I stopped paying for the Guardian a while ago as it went so American ID politics in general. Didn’t want to read an extended sixth form college opinion piece. But started subscribing to the Times when I saw that they were covering this topic like adults.

JulesJules · 19/07/2021 15:11

We also cancelled our Guardian sub and now get The Times instead

Spottybluepyjamas · 19/07/2021 15:13

Brilliant stuff!!!

peachescariad · 19/07/2021 15:14

Yep....there it is in black and white....the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth - bloody brilliant

MouseontheLouse · 19/07/2021 15:17

It's a paid for ad? Not an article?

MummingIt2018 · 19/07/2021 15:23

It's an advert... Nothing to do with their editorial decisions.

TheHandmadeTails · 19/07/2021 15:26

Fantastic! The TRAs can protest by, er, cancelling the Times subscriptions they don’t have...

BaronMunchausen · 19/07/2021 15:28

Where exactly is it?

I bought the Times today, can’t find it.

MichelleScarn · 19/07/2021 15:28

Amazing! Need to go buy and subscribe now!

Wildgarlicpesto · 19/07/2021 15:28

Haha I imagine there's going to be a string of hate crime reports to the police now.

Megasausagehead · 19/07/2021 15:29

SqueakyPeaks · 19/07/2021 15:32

Hey that's great! Kudos to Posie et al

BaronMunchausen · 19/07/2021 15:37

Ah right. It’s just in the Scotland edition.

impossibletoday · 19/07/2021 15:41

It's only in the Scottish editions of the paper, not on the app or e paper. Is that correct?
I'm new to all this!!

TheoSawUs · 19/07/2021 15:48

I subscribed to The Times about a year ago and love it. It is leagues above the Guardian for journalism.

1WayOrAnother2 · 19/07/2021 15:53

I really wanted to go back to the Guardian - but its determination to see the emperor's new clothes rather than a naked man (probably in a woman's safe space) is unbearable.

I had not considered The Times... until now.
