Kellie-Jay (AKA 'Posie Parker') is hosting the next Standing For Women gathering at Speakers Corner at noon on Sunday 1st August. Baroness Nicholson will also be there.
Picnic in the park afterward (please bring your food& drinks). See attached poster.

Of course not having a dig at the organisers, they want everyone to be safe, but the situation.

There will be lots of speakers yes, there usually is, anyone can speak, but just not the Baroness.

I’ve been debating whether or not to go all week. I’d really like to buy a bit worried/nervous about going on my own.

@HHH3 would you be able to travel in and walk around a bit to see if you felt uncomfortable entering the park?

I imagine that people will be gathering before 12 and if you saw a bunch of women you could just come join?

I realise that people are coming from far and wide and can't trek into London for a 'maybe' but I feel sure there will be a group forming.

In a way the increased police presence is reassuring and there will be safety in numbers with what I imagine will be a large crowd for the women's rights speeches.

It will be recorded and shared online anyway but there is truly nothing like being in the company of like-minded women. Despite it all I'm really looking forward to it!

I'm going on my own, definitly hear thr speakers, an i'll see how I feel about staying for the picnic.

I’d love to go, we are in London for the weekend but have a wedding at 1pm in Whitehall.
I’ll have my suffragette badge on my bag in support though.

Yeah that’s probably a good idea. I’m not that far from London so it’s not a massive trek. I really want to go so I’m just going to have to push myself out of my comfort zone a bit. Hopefully someone will take pity on me standing there like Billy no mates

I believe so. Last time I was at speakers corner they were handing out a selection of stickers. They didn’t have that one then though.

TBH I don't think anyone looks like a looser watching speakers alone, I often stop to watch street acts when they gather a crowd when I'm on my own, I just don't want to sit alone and have a picnic.
