JKR takes on the victim blamers over the pornography tweeted at children

I'm glad she's said this. It's despicable that TRA's subjected children to this in the first instance but even more so that they double down to blame the woman they targeted.
@PumpkinSpiceWoman no comment about the baddies who actually posted the porn?
Don't hold your breath waiting for one, whatever TRAs and their allies do whether it is flooding a writer of children's books twitter timeline which features art by children with porn, or sending death, rape and sexual threats and violent imagery all these things are considered perfectly acceptable and condoned by said TRAs and allies, that's how low in the gutter they are.

It’s really time Twitter stood up for women receiving death threats rape threats and porn

I mean really stood up and did something

It’s really time that sturgeon did the same thing as well

@PumpkinSpiceWoman

JKR said flat out that she ignored the p0rn tweeted at children. A more talented wordsmith might not have tweeted that.

I wonder what it's like, just living with this level of disingenous bullshit?

Does anyone ever feel like the TRA’s use the same tactics as abusive narcissists? That weird gas lighting change to the narrative that makes you look crazy if you try to keep up?

Many of the women on FWR have seen this for a long time, especially if we have prior experience of abusers in our personal lives.

@OvaHere

There's little point, I think, in taking legal action against random cartoon accounts with 10 followers. One of the things I believe you have to prove in defamation cases is the reach of the thing said about you. So who said it is a factor in deciding to sue. (caveat IANAL)

Anyone with a public profile, a large number of followers or a blue tick should be cautious in what they say though.

That was a factor, I believe, in the award made against Dr Christian Jensen for his defamatory tweet about Arlene Foster being so high.

I imagine Foxy isn't stupid enough to put himself at risk that way so I doubt we will see him the wrong side of a libel case. I would think a few people might occasionally be on the receiving end of a stiff warning from JKRs lawyers, but there's no point in pursuing the small fry and I expect most of them cry of scared pretty quickly. Though gimp mask face seems to be on a twitter break at present....

If anything makes me optimistic, it's the fact that these numpties keep turning up to a battle of wits completely unarmed.

Lord McAlpine threatened to sue every single person who retweeted the libel that he was a paedophile and many of them deleted and paid a nominal fee. His solicitors contacted many people.

It’s very “look how cool I am, I’m totally ok with kids seeing porn! I hope the other TRAs like me!”

Still ok with the company your pals keep? I bet you are.

This person isn't an anonymous nobody. He writes for a blog that was retweeted by Patrick Harvie of the Scottish Green Party in 2019:

www.google.com/amp/s/www.scotsman.com/news/politics/patrick-harvie-shares-blog-calling-snp-politician-w-1419256%3famp

In the article above, he's quoted as saying the following in defence of calling Joan McAlpine a 'wanker';

"The writer of the blog, Juan Mac, backed Mr Harvie's view and said: "ATF has always aimed to be a consistent voice against bigotry in Scotland, in all its forms. Over the last six years, those from all parties and none have earned Weekly W**r nominations. This week is no exception and the reasons for Joan McAlpine’s nomination are explained in detail on the blog.

McAlpine's role in amplifying anti-trans voices and organisations, while attempting to undermine those who provide services to women and LGBT people in Scotland, has been challenged by voices across the political spectrum, including those within the SNP."

I had a quick look at his followers and I spotted SNP members, at least one SNP elected official, a former editor of The Economist and a person claiming to be an advisor to the Green Party. He does seem to have a bit of reach, so I would understand if JKR looked into taking legal action. I'm not a lawyer though, so I have absolutely no idea if she has a case. I just know that if I were in her position, I'd definitely speak to a lawyer.

The audacity sometimes renders me speechless, but I suppose they all back each other up.

Audacity or thick? Could be both, of course.

Quite. It's almost funny that they don't learn from experience - both the Arlene Foster/Christian Jessel and the Jean Hatchet/Shanu Varma libel cases show the danger of tweeting defamatory comments. And yet they keep on doing it. They really are thick as planks.

So does the fox killer (in his now deleted tweets) think that age limits / age of consent is important or not? Isn't he in court currently arguing to find ways round our age of consent laws for children confused about which sex they are? Confused

Or maybe he just got over excited at the thought of having a go at yet another woman?

Ffs, like they don't weaponise their perceived trauma at the literal violence of being 'misgendered' at every available opportunity and their form of weaponising is to send death threats, rape threats, threats of violence both physical and sexual, porn, threats of doxxing and sacking. How any ally of TRAs can think that is acceptable I have no idea.

Absolutely! When I left my ex my mantra was "no reaction is the best reaction". This is what JK Rowling has done. She's reported all the vile porn thrown at her but not reacted to the vile tweeters. They get off on power and control, reactions give them that sense of power and control.
Report
FloralBunting · 18/07/2021 15:19

Hmm. And again, not sure how sending porn to a woman on tweets you know kids are reading and her reporting you to the authorities but not engaging you directly, is meant to put her in a bad light.

Are they all so warped by porn they think she was being rude to them by not responding? How is she weaponizing trauma if they caused the trauma by threatening her?

Report
LazyViper · 18/07/2021 15:23

So TRAs scream about suicide and murder any time someone tells them no, but Jo Rowling is weaponising her trauma? There are no words.

The more the fox killer tweets on this topic, the more sinister a figure he seems.

“No reaction is the best reaction”. Absolutely the best thing to do and don’t they hate it? They scream and shout and every reaction gets worse and nastier until everyone can see what a shite they are! Then it is your fault that they did it for ignoring them. Same thing happening on a massive massive scale.
