A designated naked-only, women-only family friendly area that includes babies, children, girls and women.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 10/07/2021 14:14

TheHeathenOfSuburbia

Utterly mindboggling that we are being accused of transphobia for saying this is unacceptable, and then told minutes later that if it did happen the police should be investigating because it's so unacceptable

It makes me feel as if I'm on an Escher staircase!

FloralBunting · 10/07/2021 14:48

I do actually remember the Ian Huntley is trans debacle. It was reported, feminists said 'He is a dangerous man who needs to stay in the male estate' and a whole raft of TRAs were ready to defend his right to self identify and only bigots would object.
Then when it turned out to be tabloid nonsense they all pretended they'd never stood on Double Child Murderer hill simply because of the mention of T.

Same shit here. Defend the noncery at first because T, and when that flies very badly, DARVO everything bad on the women who spoke up.

Murderer, rapist and flasher hills are really fucking weird places for 'civil rights' campaigners to die on, but you do you, I guess.
I am relieved to see the row back on support for noncery, but I'm sure there'll be another attempted push in a little while when you've managed to shoehorn a few more books about elective cosmetic mastectomy, or sheep letting wolves come to tea, into schools.

And we'll keep pushing back.

For those who don't remember, the internet never forgets.

The Lib-Dems.

PurpleHoodie · 10/07/2021 15:05

They could have had so many of our votes.

But they DESPISE women.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 10/07/2021 15:13

The reasoning is appalling.

Lib-Dem bloke: "I'm sorry that you believe it appropriate to force Transwomen into male prisons, where they will be in great danger from other inmates".

You could use that reasoning for any group, then.

I'm sorry that you believe it appropriate to force child predators into male prisons, where they will be in great danger from other inmates?

I'm sorry that you believe it appropriate to force notorious rapists into male prisons, where they will be in great danger from other inmates?

Or

I'm sorry that you believe it appropriate to force police informants into male prisons, where they will be in great danger from other inmates?

Or

I'm sorry that you believe it appropriate to force former police officers into male prisons, where they will be in great danger from other inmates?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 10/07/2021 15:31

The now departed from Mumsnet OP did us all a favour in allowing it to be demonstrated (yet again) how unacceptable so many aspects of an ideology is, that relentlessly focuses on telling women and children what they must accept - even when it puts them at risk and breaches safeguarding and rights to privacy and dignity.

Thank you to posters for continually exposing this.

PrincessNutella · 10/07/2021 16:05

By the way, 99.9 percent of trans women are "pre-op transwomen." fairplayforwomen.com/penis/

NecessaryScene · 10/07/2021 16:19

So, just to be clear, if we see someone of the wrong sex in a single-sex space, we should call the police? Is that the new approved view?

This is huge progress. Until recently we had signs like this:

Glad that nonsense is being rethought.

Everyone who says "why didn't these women call the police?" missed the part about the spa manager saying that under California law, it was legal for some dick-wagging guy to say he's a transwoman and go into the women's side of the spa.

PurpleHoodie · 10/07/2021 16:54

The spa need to make that VERY clear to their potential female clients.

VERY clear.

On posters.

Or perhaps "trans-inclusive by law" means:

  1. Men. Do not harass trans-males in your sex-segregated areas.
  1. Women. Do not harass trans-females in your sex segregated areas.
  1. Businesses. Make everyone welcome - including those who declare themselves trans - and keep everyone in their sex-segregated lanes. For everyone's comfort and safety.
PurpleHoodie · 10/07/2021 16:56

This actually represents UK law.

A fact many of our ploppy visitors here fail to mention. Time, and time again.

I saw a video of a woman shouting at the Spa receptionists. Regardless what your stance is on the matter is, California law does say establishments can't discriminate and that includes against transpeople.

The staff who work at these places have to follow the law and they can't change the law, and IMO they don't deserve to be shouted at and given abuse.

For what it's worth, the transwoman who used the spa did inform the staff beforehand they were trans, and when they were using the spa the staff did inform any female customers as they entered that there was a transwoman currently using the spa.

I've not seen that, have you got a link please?

PurpleHoodie · 10/07/2021 17:09

Can you please point us Europeans to the relevant US/Californian Statutes.

Or post them here.

Much appreciated.

PurpleHoodie · 10/07/2021 17:11

Also. Please answer Eresh's question.

Ta.

So, it definitely wasn't a hoax, eh?

"Peter F Jazayeri, a lawyer representing Wi Spa, later said that the spa is prohibited from discriminating against trans people under California law."

www.pinknews.co.uk/2021/07/07/los-angeles-wi-spa-transgender/

I'll try to find the other article I saw that says female customers were informed a transwomen was using the spa before they entered.

Oh, I also found out the initial rant resulted in protests which resulted in two people being stabbed by anti-trans protestors;l

slate.com/human-interest/2021/07/wi-spa-la-transphobic-protest.html

"The two stabbing victims were attacked by an anti-trans protester"

PurpleHoodie · 10/07/2021 17:16

The Statutes please.

MargaritaPie · 10/07/2021 17:16

"So, it definitely wasn't a hoax, eh?"

Transpeople do exist and they do make use of facilities that don't discriminate against them. Yes like it or not, this happens.

MargaritaPie · 10/07/2021 17:17

"The Statutes please."

You don't believe the lawyer representing Wi Spa?

PurpleHoodie · 10/07/2021 17:17

There WAS a person. According to legally lawyers.

TRA Twits won't like that.
