In reference to the comments about dick swinging in changing rooms, and some men just being disgusting ...

I work in a heavily male dominated manufacturing environment. There are some men who work there who are notorious creeps towards the women. A subset of these men are also considered threatening by the men who have to get changed with them, precisely because they like waving their cocks around. They're even sexually harassing other men!

I'm not sure what exactly I want to express here if I'm honest, except there is something badly wrong with some men, and they should not be allowed to share private spaces with women. If men with their relatively equal musculature feel threatened, women are definitely vulnerable. To try to deny that such men exist, or that the wouldn't try "But I'm a woman" to invade spaces where they shouldn't be just beggars belief.

This is exactly what PP have been referencing regarding safeguarding. The risk that any man is a threat should bar all men from female dedicated spaces. And if what my male colleagues say is true, we might need special changing rooms for universal creeps, where the users are selected by private polling.

Yes I totally get you and so do the vast majority of women in the world.

Creepy pervy men are everywhere.

Given that most women have had multiple encounters with pervy men since they were schoolgirls (I know some have never had anything but IME and around the world... I mean men being aggressive scary leery flashy etc is so common and sadly worse behaviour than that)...

Yes WE know.

The fucking charities who are all on board with the 'inclusive' approach on one hand are then talking about the importance of single sex stuff on the other hand...

It's a total piss take.

NiceGerbil · 14/07/2021 02:18

Example.

United Nations

Loads of orgs and charities do this...

On the one hand:

'With one out of three women worldwide lacking access to safe toilets, it is a moral imperative to end open defecation to ensure women and girls are not at risk of assault and rape simply because they lack a sanitation facility, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged today'

But.. hold on a sec!

'Discrimination
Trans people experience widespread
discrimination and stigma in the
health sector, schools, employment
and housing, as well as in accessing
bathrooms. Discrimination on the
basis of gender identity is illegal
under international human rights law'

Well ok then!

Keepemguessing · 14/07/2021 06:44

That's because their Nigels are bad rapey men, while our Nigels (however they identify) are lovely.

Cailleach1 · 14/07/2021 15:25

Discrimination on the basis of gender identity is illegal under international human rights law'

How is 'gender identity' defined under this alleged 'international human rights law' ?

Who is behind 'international human rights law' ? The Yogyakarta Principles which were drawn up with the participation of lobbyists (and without any impact on women and girls being mentioned, never mind assessed) is not a United Nations set of aspirations.

What about international women's rights?

Keepemguessing · 14/07/2021 16:11

Discrimination on the basis of gender identity is illegal under international human rights law

Nope. Gender reassignment is protected under the 2010 Equality Act. Not identity.

So despite banners being carried making it quite clear that it’s about the right of women to have femake spaces, the guardian frames this as “anti trans”

www.theguardian.com/society/2021/jul/18/dozens-arrested-in-los-angeles-as-anti-trans-protest-outside-spa-turns-violent

The American influence on the Trust that oversees the guardian becomes clearer everyday

I sundered wgat the guardian would do when Helen Joyce’s book came out with its very clear factual take on what’s going on Abd this is the answer. Allow is American correspondents to write about inflammatory stories, use the word cos frequently and make it their second lead story

Abhannmor · 18/07/2021 06:52

Yes , today's Guardian article on Wi Spa is just naked propaganda. The phrase 'women's spaces' in scare quotes and garbage about the 'alleged incident '. Also a rather desperate attempt to connect the protest with Pizzagate and other such nonsense. Very sad but no longer surprising.

Update:

Five Women Have Filed Police Reports Alleging Indecent Exposure at Wi Spa

www.lamag.com/citythinkblog/wi-spa-police-reports/

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/08/2021 17:43

From the article:

A total of five women have filed reports with the Los Angeles Police Department regarding a June 23 incident at Wi Spa, all of them claiming to have seen male genitals exposed in the women’s section of the Wilshire Boulevard health club.
One of the reports states that a woman “observed [the suspect] exit a jacuzzi fully nude. Victim observed male genitals on the suspect and became scared and upset.”

Is this going to start officially getting into a penis is a female organ territory? I mean nothing would surprise me.
Sophoclesthefox · 04/08/2021 19:03

Five incidents? Bloody hell.

Now, are we sticking with “it never happened” or are we going with “it’s absolutely fine, women and small girls need to loosen up and accept that they’ll see dicks in the women’s jacuzzi”?

Either way, I’m sure we’ll land on whatever the outcome is being women’s fault, at least that’s a constant.

Deliriumoftheendless · 04/08/2021 22:00

Datun I think we’ll be back to how rude it is for a woman to notice a cock and balls etc.

Deliriumoftheendless · 04/08/2021 22:02

And spun as victim blaming.

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 04/08/2021 22:35

it's going to be very interesting to see how this pans out

I presume that indecent exposure is a crime in the US

but if the male in question had the 'right' gender identity, then was a crime committed? is exposing a penis if the gender of the person attached to it is 'female' no longer a crime?

bignosebignose · 14/01/2023 13:44

Not sure if there is a more recent thread on this, I searched for wispa and this came up. Anyway, in case anyone missed this report from last month. Apart from anything else, it's a glorious mishmash of male and female pronouns, often within a single sentence.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11555915/Transgender-pervert-arrested-15-months-exposed-women-Wi-Spa-LA.html

Datun · 14/01/2023 14:43

It’s okay for a man to go into the women’s section, show his penis around the other women, young little girls — underage — in your spa?' the frustrated woman, who is reportedly being treated as one of the victims in the case, can be heard asking staff in the clip.

He’s a man! He is a man!' The three-and-a-half-minute video was promptly reposted across social media and soon went viral - forcing Wi Spa to address the incident, with staffers saying they stood behind Merager and her alleged gender identity.

and there is, in all it's women hating, deceitful glory

Blister · 15/01/2023 07:25

I wish they could book the bloke who defended this penis in the female section on the day as an accessory to indecent exposure. Grumble. 😠He may not even be following the news on who he enabled.

BaronMunchausen · 15/01/2023 11:01

The people who vociferously defended Merager (including Guardian 'journalists' Sam Levin and Lois Beckett, effectively campaigned for indecent exposure to be decriminalised. You can't have one law for a man flashing his penis and another for a "woman" flashing "her" penis: any flasher in a female space is by definition a "woman" and victims bigots.

There is very obviously nothing progressive about campaigning for a man's right to commit the crimes of indecent exposure and voyeurism.
