@Imasoulman, yes, where does that 4000nfigure come from? I never mentioned it.

Latest data I found says 3.4k women in prison in the UK. That's not 4k.

And the 1in 50 gives you approx 1.5k.
So perhaps it's more like 1 self-identified transwoman trying to get in to every 2 women there already, though of course you'd have to reckon those who have already successfully transferred as extras on the trans side and deduct them from the women's figure.

Either way, if they were all allowed to transfer, you'd have to build new prisons to hold them, or perhaps it would just be easier to empty an entire male prison to make room and shunt the remaining male prisoners who aren't self identifying as women into the gaps left all over the place by the ones who are.

Is this sounding silly enough to you yet? It's sounding pretty silly to me. And pretty frightening to the women prisoners who are going to find upwards of 1 in 3 of their fellow inmates are penis-havers with superior physical strength and grip and often dubious intentions.

If it carries on, I think courts and juries and judges will be increasingly reluctant to incarcerate women at all and the transwomen can fight it out amongst themselves.

I wonder how they'll repurpose all the urinals? And how will the penis-havers manage without?

Imagine being a woman sharing a cell and having to listen to a man penis-haver doing Niagara impressions in the middle of the night with no door between you. Though that would probably be the least of your worries. 🙄

I immediately knew who this would be , before reading the report. Community care is not working and this man kill a women at some point. Thank goodness he is not in a women’s prison right now.

Current female prison population is around 3500.
That would mean as I said approximately 4000 transwomen.
I just wanted to see the stats as that seemed a lot, we can now see the numbers are no where near that.

Don't for one minute think I am in favour of intact transwomen in female prisons, I absolutely am not.

I was simply surprised by the assumed numbers.

It is indeed and hugely out of step with the general population.
I don't think those figures can be relied on for their accuracy though, asking prisoners to simply tick a box is hardly in depth research.

And I assume you know how search engines work, or rather, how to use your preferred one.

That’s where the 4000 figure comes from (rounded up from around 3830 from the 2019 figures).

As there are 3,830 female prisoners (2019 figures), it implies that there must be more than 3,830 male prisoners identifying as women, whereas the quoted 1 in 50 male prisoners statistic suggests it’s 1575 (based on the 2019 figure of 78,700 male prisoners in the UK).

All the PP did was round up 3830 to 4000.

And do you really consider it would be fine for 1in 3 (rather than my erroneous 1in 2) inmates in women's prisons in the UK to be intact males? Would that be OK with you? And realistically, if they agreed to every existing request for a transfer to the women's estate, how long would it be until the penis-havers outnumbered the women, do you think?

Funny that women are deemed too thick to remember to take birth control daily, but people with mental health disorders and previous convictions etc can be trusted to take meds without a hitch. I think work to make slow release bars for all sorts of medication is a great idea!

Many medications for MH are slow release or depot. Problem is it does depend on the drug, some simply cannot be formulated that way.

There is no medication for BPD unfortunately, some low dose antipsychotics help and anti depressants are often prescribed but everyone with this diagnosis is different. Even if depot medication were an option Paris would need to agree to it as BPD is not considered a judgement impairing illness in the way Schizophrenia is.

Ekofisk, my 2020 data trumps outdated figures, I contend.

When you round it down to 3k (which I didn't, not my precedent, but if you're rounding the older 3.8 to 4k, you have to be consistent and round 3.4 down to 3k) remember it already includes some self-identified penis-havers.
