Another entry for the female violent crime stats. The perpetrator has been jailed, so would that be in a women’s prison?

www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/rampaging-beautician-brandished-homemade-flamethrower-24414970

Judge Silas Reid: “There are two sides to this lady — one is the side when she’s off medication and one is the side when she’s on it.”

He has assaulted tens of women. Is it going to take him killing one for them to lock him away for a decent period of time?

This. 14 months for a 'flamethrower incident' after such a catalogue of violence in the past is insufficient.

Paris does according to this have significant mental health problems.

Meth will do that to you. Fundamentally he keeps getting found to have mental capacity, so presumably could choose to stop attacking people.

DdraigGoch · 30/06/2021 18:06

@Clymene

In this article, it's clear that his issues are due to a Crystal meth addiction.

www.mylondon.news/news/west-london-news/sex-worker-jailed-after-rampage-17744020

The line about not being accepted by his family seems to get trotted out regularly but most people go no contact - they don't assault loads of random women going about their business in london.

If a family member of mine was on crystal meths, I'd probably not accept them either.
Congressdingo · 30/06/2021 18:51

So not simply because they are trans then
Umm no, because they are men in fact.

NewlyGranny · 30/06/2021 18:58

Transwomen offend at pretty much the same rate as other XY individuals, aka men. And transmen offend in similar ways to other XX individuals (the people formerly known as women). Hence no female wing at Belmarsh, I guess.

Apparently there are more XY convicted people currently in or clamouring to get into the women's estate than there are women incarcerated in total. Imagine the stats that generates.

Exactly

Could you please share your source of those figures.

RedDogsBeg · 30/06/2021 20:20

Can you not do a bit of research/googling yourself Imasoulman? The figures and evidence for NewlyGranny's post have been shared on this Board numerous times, if you want to dispute what NewlyGranny is saying why don't you come up with evidence to the contrary?

When did I say that I was disputing anything ?

I would just be interested to see those stats and how they are gathered.

underneaththeash · 30/06/2021 20:38

He's obviously a bloke, but I don't think that makes any difference to him being violent. He's just got mental health problems and they're not currently treated properly.

RedDogsBeg · 30/06/2021 20:44

I would just be interested to see those stats and how they are gathered.

From crime figure and prison population figures from the MoJ, from evidence given to Parliamentary committees, from research done by various organisations and groups.

The JR against the MoJ has insisted that the MoJ provide accurate figures of all TW within the female estate with or without a GRC and those figures had to be presented by 12th March.

WoolOfBat · 30/06/2021 21:03

Sorry, posted just links. According to this study (which I believed was summarised for parliament) transwomen offend at the same rate as men whereas transmen seem to offend at a higher rate than women.

I have looked and can only find male / female population figures.
The only mention of trans numbers was from the Pink Press and obviously they are not going to be a balanced source.
Please help me out with a link

Well it does because men are bigger and stronger than women.

This bloke WILL kill a woman one day. And the Met will say lessons have been learned.

Clymene · 30/06/2021 21:27

You can follow links from FPFW @Imasoulman. I'm sure you don't like their politics but they are always scrupulously fair and honest.

So much so that the BBC found they'd underestimated: How many transgender inmates are there? www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-42221629

Not tonight, I'll check back tomorrow.

chickenyhead · 30/06/2021 21:29

Why the hell is this recorded as female crime? Our rates must be way up on previous years. Plus I guess there must be a new category for female rapists since a requirement for such an offence is a penis.

Oh no, I forgot, rape is pretty much legal in the UK.

NewlyGranny · 30/06/2021 21:33

This do you, @Imasoulman ?

I'm actually very much in favour of the stance that FPFW take, I'm forever arguing for single sex spaces etc.

I try to be a feminist allie and take the feminist argument to the Trans community but it feels like a thankless task sometimes.

Thank you for the link but still no mention of these approximately 4000 transwomen in or trying to get into womens prisons.

Imasoulman · 30/06/2021 21:53

@NewlyGranny

Thank you, but I still can't see the figures stating there are in the region of 4000 transwomen in or trying to get into womens prison

Imasoulman · 30/06/2021 22:37

Thank you, I had seen that report already but it doesn't mention the approximate 4000 figure that I was interested in reading about.

chickenyhead · 30/06/2021 22:48

1 in 50 of the total men in prison. It is just math.

Imasoulman · 30/06/2021 23:01

@chickenyhead

1 in 50 of the total men in prison. It is just math.

Yes it is "maths"

78250 men in prison, divided by 50 = 1565

The real figure will be much lower but if we accept it at face value then where did the approx 4000 come from ?

Ekofisk · 30/06/2021 23:07

1 in 50 of 80,000 UK male inmates is 1600.
