Sainsbury don't give a stuff about women...

ChristinaXYZ · 27/06/2021 11:55

... or at least, they don't give stuff about those who want to use the loo as a single sex space.

"Last night, Sainsbury's said: 'We're committed to being a truly inclusive retailer where every single one of our colleagues is treated fairly and with respect.'"

  • unless of course that colleague is a woman who wants a single sex loo or changing room in which case there is absolutely no provision for her none at all.

Replace your words perhaps: "Women being uncomfortable at being forced to share toilets with lesbians is not lesphobia".

Let's not replace my words. I said males because I meant males.

Lesbians are women. Women of all races are women so I'd have no reason to object Hmm

ooh I feel uncomfortable

Nice mocking of many women's very rational fear of the male sex class there. I'm glad that you personally have no reason to fear males. It's sadly not the case for plenty of women and girls.

Datun · 27/06/2021 15:53

Oh dear mishy, I'm afraid you're way out of touch. Look at all the comments under every single article. Look at all the polls on Twitter, and on here.

Look at the government saying they are going to ring fence female only spaces.

No one wants mixed sex toilets.

Imasoulman · 27/06/2021 15:58

Is that article true?
Anybody working at Sainsburys who can confirm?

I only ask because I'm sure the Mail are re hashing a story from last year!

And before anyone asks, no I don't want to see single sex spaces being taken away.

yourhairiswinterfire · 27/06/2021 16:02

@FloralBunting

Did you just say coloured races, MishyJDI?

Holy shit.

Lecturing on bigotry and being progressive whilst using the term 'coloured' Hmm
AdjustableAssholeSettings · 27/06/2021 16:05

@MishyJDI lesbians are women, of course they are welcome in women's toilets. Please don't imply otherwise.

Really really not derailing thread
But

Come to think of it, I can't find dried pears anywhere lately, not even in Waitrose

I've never even heard of dried pears, whst do you do with them.

TRA type in blatantly racist shocker. Knock me down with a feather, you could.

Poor Mishy. Racist beyond belief which as a BAME person I'm disgusted at.
And I think you'll find that more and more women, once they find out about the outrageous behaviour of the MRA's/TRA's will turn from being your kind little "allies", "worker bees" and handmaidens to something much scarier. They will become women who don't center men in their every breath.

Poo, just saw this and was also wondering what to do with one of those Rumtopf things. Do you just fill it with fruit and brandy and then what?
OvaHere · 27/06/2021 17:00

This is from last year. Sainsbury's already know mixed sex facilities are a problem for women.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 27/06/2021 17:16

Your point of view is just out of place with the majority of the population and other women

Lol. No they really don't and thanks to Maya now longer have to shut up about it.

Fridaytomorrow · 27/06/2021 17:24

Shame if I have to boycott Sainsbury’s but that explains why it’s been so easy recently to get a delivery slot from them, if other people got the memo before I did.

Dried pears.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 27/06/2021 17:28

I'm really beginning to wonder about some people on this forum.

Extremely out of date language in the same week that I saw the most ridiculous relationship advice from one user. Apparently women should seek a divorce if they have a momentary crush on someone else. (I still haven't worked out how this would work legally.)

I bet the same standards of behaviour don't apply to men who use porn heavily, though.

Yes, I'm sure it was around the same time as a colleague was arrested/charged/found guilty of filming another colleague in the toilets/changing rooms (someone else has posted a link to a report on it)
Waitwhat23 · 27/06/2021 18:39

@PurgatoryOfPotholes yes, I remember the thread about someone having a passing crush on a neighbour with no intention at all on acting on it being told that they should leave their 'poor husband' as they obviously didn't care about their marriage. Absolutely bizarre. It seems like some posters just have extreme views about everything

Looneytune253 · 27/06/2021 18:48

Does it matter really when most Sainsbury's toilets are self contained rooms? Honestly I don't see the issue either way. Someone can't just decide on a whim that they're gonna be a female for the day to attack women. To be a female presenting member of staff how would you even know. And in a busy supermarket why would it even matter. People find it too easy to be offended these days

Theeyeballsinthesky · 27/06/2021 18:55

Ahhh ye olde “no man would dress as a woman ti attack women” chestnut

How very transphobic of you to think that a man needs to present as a woman to identify as one!

In all seriousness I still don’t get how ppl don’t understand this. The point of self ID is that no man has to present as a woman they simply have to say they are one. If that’s all that’s required then any man can stroll into any women’s spaces and not be challenged because remember it’s also transphobic to ask someone if they’re a woman - I mean misgendering is literal violence after all!

So bloke goes into the women’s loos in Sainsbury’s. How are we to tell if this is a man whose after assaulting someone, a man who just likes intimidating women, a man having a laugh cos anyone can be a woman these days amirite? Or a TW? How do we tell the difference?

Or should we just keep men out of women’s toilets no matter what they’re wearing!

Theeyeballsinthesky · 27/06/2021 18:56

And my Sainsbury’s are not self contained cubicles. All the wash basins are outside in one main room

EyesOpening · 27/06/2021 18:57

One thing that's weird in that Sun report, is that the changing rooms are said to be mixed gender (and there must be gaps at the bottom and top) yet they have male toilets

AntiSocialDistancer · 27/06/2021 19:04

My best friend works for Sainsbos head office. HQ recently set up new email templates with "opt out" pronouns in the email signature. She's not impressed, and yes, she did opt out!

ifIwerenotanandroid · 27/06/2021 19:22

A couple of years ago, my local Sainsburys solved the changing room problem by removing them all. When I asked how I was supposed to buy clothes, I was told, "Just take it home, try it on & bring it back". Yes, but that means I have to buy, say, four dresses just to find the one that I want. And then I have to drive 15 mins there & back a second time to return the others & try to get my money back. Haven't bought any clothes there since they took the changing rooms out.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 27/06/2021 19:35

'Inclusive' doesn't solely mean trans-inclusive. People who use it that way need to widen their perspective.

'Inclusivity' which excludes certain groups isn't inclusive. Being genuinely inclusive requires intelligent, creative thought about how to achieve it, as well as concern for everyone in society.

And if one group in society has felt done-down or excluded in the past, doing down & excluding another group in retaliation or in a frantic rush to gain rights is counterproductive.

I present to you pips bunce, who in fact identifies as a woman some days and a man other days. How can you tell? I dunno.

there are absolutely no requirements to identifying as a woman, I give you Alex drummond, who tells us they are widening the bandwith of what it means to be a woman, with theys beard and all.

Seriously though, self id means exactly what it says. Any man can by dint of telling his mum/nan/best mate/neighbour he is now a woman, and ta Daaa hes a woman. That's how easy it is to become a woman. Good times eh?

AntiSocialDistancer · 27/06/2021 21:37

FFS. I just googled. I should not google on a restful Sunday evening.
