The topic of Police neutrality is getting a lot of attention

Good
About time

highame · 09/06/2021 09:01

This article was in the wind last week. I wondered when it would make an appearance. When the Justice system has been captured we need a public enquiry (yes a separate one) because if it can be captured by Stonewall, it could easily be captured by groups wanting to overturn democracy.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/06/2021 09:04

Archived here! archive.li/U2FLK

Fair Cop will issue Pre Action letters to any force which remains in the Stonewall Champion’s Scheme following a period of consideration

Hopefully this will focus minds.

Grellbunt · 09/06/2021 09:07

Should check Police Scotland and the officer involved in the current high profile example.

IvyTwines2 · 09/06/2021 09:11

Is the BBC still a Stonewall Champion? I've seen stuff online suggesting it is or has been, and its treatment of Jenni Murray, Woman' Hour, the conspicuous lack of coverage about the movement's negative impact on women and children and the various comments I've heard from Radio 5 presenters about steering debate away from trans issues does strongly suggest they've been Stonewalled. For an organisation elsewhere committed to impartiality, this surely can't go on.

SpindleWhorl · 09/06/2021 09:12

Oh how very interesting. Happy to support this sort of thing from Fair Cop et. al.

The infiltration of our supposedly independent and neutral police constabularies and colleges by a blatant political lobbying organisation has been and is a bloody disgrace.

The roles of MPs and Peers like Crispin Blunt and Nick Herbert need very close examination. I posted about it on another thread and I'll go find it.

PearPickingPorky · 09/06/2021 09:21

Hopefully this will make some of the sensible forces think. Then the ones who refuse to think can be taken to court.

SpindleWhorl · 09/06/2021 09:25

Ok, so just reminded myself what I wrote over on the thread 'UK's Special Envoy on LGBT+ Rights'.

So Lord Nick Herbert, the new envoy, is the Chair of the College of Policing.

Herbert is also bezzies with the TRA-like Crispin Blunt MP, and sits on the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) which Blunt chairs on 'Global LGBT+ Rights'. (Yeah I know, it's all very colonialist.)

In fact Herbert is one of Blunt's vice-chairs from what I can see in Hansard.

The APPG had its AGM in February this year, and the minutes record, among other gems:

Crispin Blunt MP expressed disappointment in the Government’s failure to reform the Gender Recognition Act 2004 and noted that, while the APPG was set up to focus on international issues, it is the only LGBT+ APPG in the Parliament. He noted that the UK’s Equal Rights Coalition co-chair, Argentina, had introduced a progressive gender recognition law in 2012.

Crispin Blunt MP welcomed the APPG’s former Chair, the Lord Herbert of South Downs, congratulated him on his work with the Global Equality Caucus, and welcomed the Government conference which he will chair.

Lord Herbert shared that the conference has been postponed and discussions about rescheduling it are ongoing, and hoped that the APPG will play a role, along with parliamentarians from around the world. Crispin Blunt MP commented that would be good to be do alongside London Pride in 2022.

Now tie that in with this APPG's dependence on Stonewall for its 'expert evidence' and you have a lobbying scandal brewing ...

... which appears to have crossed over into the police, using carriers like Nick Herbert, Stonewall itself having been 'infected' by Gendered Intelligence under Ruth Hunt (now a Peer herself).

Great news.

This in itself is a conflict of interest- should not happen>>

Sorry posted too soon!

"So Lord Nick Herbert, the new envoy, is the Chair of the College of Policing."

According to his own website, yes.

Tibtom · 09/06/2021 09:38

Not just stonewall either. Their links/training from Gendered intelligence should come under scrutiny too.

Grellbunt · 09/06/2021 09:40

I am not saying you are wrong - I can well believe it has happened!! But it shouldn't. State of public life today. That could be reported to the standards commissioner/ ombudsman type bodies (would need to check precisely who has jurisdiction).

heathspeedwell · 09/06/2021 09:40

Absolutely brilliant. What a week this is proving to be.

snowcobra · 09/06/2021 09:44

Wonderful, Stonewall has no place in police & government bodies - they have a duty to be impartial, unbiased and uphold the law

FindTheTruth · 09/06/2021 09:55

Lord Nick Herbert and Crispin Blunt MP don't belong anywhere near roles requiring neutrality

OP posts:
SpindleWhorl · 09/06/2021 10:08

Our LGBT+ Envoy Lord Nick Herbert is apparently a relatively new appointment as Chair of the College of Policing.

He needs to get back to his Ben Summerskill roots, and back away from current Stonewall and GI, face Crispin Blunt etc head on, and review the dodgy College of Police 'training' (he can blame it all on his predecessors).

DifficultBloodyWoman · 09/06/2021 10:20

Well, I’m doing my happy dance today!

I wasn’t aware of the details of the police code of ethics but it makes sense. I think a number of police forces will be backing away from Stonewall anyway at this point and I am not sure if the threat of legal action would affect the decision making process. But I am delighted to know that option is there now.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 09/06/2021 10:22

This is long overdue. Now we also need to get Stonewall (and all the other lobby groups involved in sexual politics) out of schools where they have no business to be.

FindTheTruth · 09/06/2021 10:26

members of the public perceive an actual or apparent conflict of interest

Is there a case, if it's judged perceived not apparent? also who judges this? INAL so interested.

OP posts:
SpindleWhorl · 09/06/2021 10:26

Well, schools are supposed to be impartial too re political activity, so this is going to be interesting ...

Cailin66 · 09/06/2021 10:27

The archive link to the Telegraph doesn't work, anyone with a better link please.

Leafstamp · 09/06/2021 10:28

Thank you to Find for this thread and links and to ItsAll for the archive copy of the article.

Such a significant and welcomed development.

I agree with PP that this all needs to extend to others like Gendered Intelligence, Mermaids etc and to extend to schools and other public organisations, not just the police.

GNCQ · 09/06/2021 10:29

Fair cop are fantastic
