Wishing her the very best of luck. twitter.com/MForstater/status/1402310977115279362?s=20

I'll be absolutely gutted if the original decision isn't overturned, but at least her case has let a lot of sunlight in.

I don't think anyone knows PearPickingPorky. Well, maybe his mum does.

SengaMac · 13/06/2021 18:29

Respect

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 13/06/2021 18:34

Separate thread about it here:

It will as Scotland is part of the UK, whatever the SNP might like to think.

Great article in Herald on Sunday taking about Maya amongst others.

SengaMac · 14/06/2021 10:46

It's stunning how so many supposedly intelligent people have turned out to be jobsworths who will follow anything that's put in front of them.

MrsBunHat · 14/06/2021 10:54

It's stunning how so many supposedly intelligent people have turned out to be jobsworths who will follow anything that's put in front of them.

I think it's more complex than that. Some are jobsworths, some are desperate to be virtuous, cool and open-minded, and a lot are not jobsworths but need to keep their job to support their family, and have had no choice but to pretend to go along with it.

I also think a lot of it is unconscious misogyny and feeling very comfortable with feminists being the new enemies who you are allowed to despise and bully.

ScreamingMeMe · 14/06/2021 12:23

Joss Prior's latest schtick is that Gender Critical people should be reported to their employers, just in case we harrass trans people.

That's a v dangerous line to tread.

That's anticipatory harassment.

ScreamingMeMe · 14/06/2021 12:27

Joss is one of iur most ardent monitors, on Mumsnet and other platforms. For some reason MNHQ take them seriously, so I wouldn't be surprised if my posts about them go bye bye.

FannyCann · 14/06/2021 12:29

Identify? A little list to keep an eye on?
Pretty sure that's illegal whatever it relates to including activities not even related to protected characteristics.

What if they kept a list of people who take an annual skiing holiday with a view to monitoring injury related sick leave. Would that be legal?

Anyway protected beliefs are protected beliefs so I'm damn sure lists are not legal.

AfternoonToffee · 14/06/2021 12:54

It might work on Twitter Joss but it won't cut much mustard in the real world.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 14/06/2021 12:55

@WarriorN

That's a v dangerous line to tread.

That's anticipatory harassment.

To be fair to JP - that's next door to J Tayler's apprehension and judgment in Maya's first hearing.

And, yes - it reeks of Minority Report and there's a stench of abuse.

SoMuchForSummerLove · 14/06/2021 13:02

They did this to me once - kept tweeting my employer because I said people with vaginas are called women.

I was the social media manager so I just kept deleting their shite Grin

JustcameoutGC · 14/06/2021 13:02

How do we know Joss is a monitor?

Tibtom · 14/06/2021 13:05

Should we report black people to employers too in case they do x, y or z? Or might that be seen for what it is - racist harassment?

WarriorN · 14/06/2021 13:05

Historic experiences Grin

WarriorN · 14/06/2021 13:06

(In response to How do we know Joss is a monitor?)

ArabellaScott · 14/06/2021 13:08

And how is Joss planning to do that, then? Isn't that just a teensy bit stalkerish, threatening, harassing and abusive?

ArabellaScott · 14/06/2021 13:10

Pathetic. It's like children clyping.
SoMuchForSummerLove · 14/06/2021 13:15

Totally! I did tell my boss anyway who was just like 'fuck those twats'. Thank god I had a sensible manager though.

ScreamingMeMe · 14/06/2021 13:32

@JustcameoutGC

How do we know Joss is a monitor?
They post frequently about this board, woth screenshots or links from here, on their twitter account.
JustcameoutGC · 14/06/2021 13:34

Oops, I got my moderators and monitors mixed up. Was thinking if Joss was a moderator then Joss should be hoofed off by MNHQ.

ScreamingMeMe · 14/06/2021 13:35

Also this:

" “When I started using Twitter and engaging in the trans sphere in mid-2017, Mumsnet was constantly referenced both on my timeline and in DMs,” says Joss Prior, a trans woman who is part of a sizable trans community that monitors and discusses Mumsnet regularly. “The whole of the Feminism board was like a spectre hanging over the daily trans discourse.” "

SoMuchForSummerLove · 14/06/2021 13:45

I think the daily trans discourse has proceeded along just fine, let's face it!
