“ A second high-profile public body has ditched a rights group’s scheme to encourage “diversity days” after concerns were raised that it gave unlawful advice on transgender rights.

Acas, the employment dispute service, confirmed to The Times that it had withdrawn “for cost reasons” from the diversity champions scheme run by Stonewall”

Excellent.

It really does feel as though people are waking up.

I'm so happy about this. My Son's secondary school is a champ and I so badly want them to ditch Stonewall. I sent the head the EHRC story last week and various other "news" and he replied positively. I can't wait for Stonewall to be disbanded! 🤞

highame · 28/05/2021 07:04

Just came on to post this. The fear of being branded is now gone. This is fantastic

Whatwouldscullydo · 28/05/2021 07:11

Let's hope this is the start of alot more doing the same.

Good!

PurplePlain · 28/05/2021 07:14

I'm pleased about this, but also sad that I feel pleased. Stonewall was a positive thing.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 28/05/2021 07:15

I love how cost saving is giving them the perfect excuse!

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 28/05/2021 07:19

It would be nice though if these organisations owned their decisions and didn't let Stonewall off the hook by claiming this was about cost

PearPickingPorky · 28/05/2021 07:21

As Barracker said, the EHRC gave everyone the perfect excuse with their "cost reasons". Makes it much easier for others to follow.

OhHolyJesus · 28/05/2021 07:22

We can expect another round of "u ok hun" type tweets then as The Times is clearly "obsessed" with Stonewall, according to their social media team.

Very pleased to hear this news. Another nail.

SirSamuelVimes · 28/05/2021 07:23

Yes!!!

Ifyourefeelingsinister · 28/05/2021 07:25

Great news!

Saying anything else makes it about politics, which is tricky ground for most organisations to navigate as they shouldn't really be getting involved in politics.

But every organisation has a budget to balance.

highame · 28/05/2021 07:27

Stonewall was also captured, for which I am very sad. It was a fantastic organisation for gay rights before it added the T. However, Stonewall wants to destroy the rights of women, therefore we can only be relived when Stonewall their are signs of destruction.

eurochick · 28/05/2021 07:33

I'm also pleased but sad that I feel pleased. It was a good organisation that accomplished lots of good things, but it has completely lost its way.

AfternoonToffee · 28/05/2021 07:35

Whilst this is good news it is also a worry that the first two to go are two that should have such a grasp on the law that they should have seen through the SW misrepresentation. How could ACAS have offered impartial advice when they were stonewalled to the hilt?

EmpressWitchDoesntBurn · 28/05/2021 07:37

@highame

Exactly. It’s pretty tragic when you think of their history. But Stonewall are a homophobic & misogynistic organisation now.
JustcameoutGC · 28/05/2021 07:41

Their trustees must be quaking in their boots. Ultimately it is up to them to govern the charity. If they do unlawful things, it is up to the Trustees to sort it. I would be stepping down round about now...

@PearPickingPorky

Others can use the cost excuse but I do think EHRC should have said that being a member of SW champion scheme would place organisations in breach of their public sector equality duty to ALL protected characteristics.
WineAcademy · 28/05/2021 07:46

Well well well.
