I don't know anything about the editor, but don't forget you can be trans AFAB, identity as male but still choose to have a feminine gender presentation. Just because you can.

What stands out for me in the joint statement is:

'Our ambition for diversity and inclusion is for Girlguiding to be a place where everyone is welcome, is free to be themselves, and has an equal sense of belonging – whoever they are and wherever they’re from.'

Compare that with Stonewall's statement on Twitter:

'At Stonewall, we stand for all LGBTQ+ people and imagine a world where LGBTQ+ people everywhere are free to be themselves and can live their lives to the full.'

Indeed!

They're not allowed to be a "femme only space" that would be illegal discrimination as the Equality Act recognises people without GRC as their biological sex and children don't have GRCs you can't say "only girls who present as a stereotypical view of girls, plus some males who also do" can join.

GG board has been brainwashed, captured. They need a strong leader to bring it back to girls, just girls. With safeguarding a priority for all. Or else it will fold. Very sad if it did, but their own bloody fault for not standing up for their girls.

Unfortunately that is EXACTLY what GG has done. Women who don't identify as women despite being legally and biologically female - OUT Boys and men who identify as women but are legally and biologically male - IN.

Ironically she couldn't be a leader. She's a woman but she doesn't identify as one. Not very trans inclusive, hey? I have pointed this out to her.

It's almost as if the activists have gone, we are excluded from GG, we can't have that. Let's do a takeover. Ideology takeover commences. Successful. GG volunteer base falls away. GG crumbles. I am so so so saddened by the route GG has gone down. They should be pro-girls by their very definition. How can parents of girls have trust in GG as an organisation now? GG should be rallying AGAINST female/male stryontypes and be showing girls how much they can do with a 'this girl can' attitude.

GG is a membership organisation dependent on volunteers. Yet important policy seems to have drawn up without any obvious consultation, other than with some quite unlikely people.

GG's new Digital Editor needs to learn that the exclamation mark is not a substitute for thinking.

GG have again changed their policies and assuming this person is actually female and non binary she CAN now be a leader (I need to do a trawl of the Wayback machine to find the specifics.
So she missed a "you're wrong" and doesn't know her own organisation's policies either...

By the look of that person's tweets, they are a grade A idiot.

Such a shame. GG is the ONLY worldwide organisation run for women, by women. It is a hugely powerful movement for improving the lives of girls worldwide.

The trans inclusion policy happened when Julie Bentley was Chief Guide. That's Julie Bentley, Former head of the Family Planning Association. That's Julie Bentley, campaigner for abortion rights, who presumably knows how unwanted pregnancies happen.

This is what Julie Bentley said upon her appointment to the job in 2015:

‘I have worked in a wide range of settings and I have a broad insight into what affects girls,’ she said. ‘I don’t think any of [her former work] is at odds with the Girl Guides. In fact I believe the Guides is the ultimate feminist organisation.’

And she allowed Guides to be captured. How this happened beggars belief.
