Welcome to thread 5. A virtual prize for anyone who can guess the geeky sci fi reference in the thread title.

This is a support area for women who are, or have been, in unhappy relationships with male partners who are transitioning, or exploring their "gender identity"

If you are in that position-

1. You are not alone
2. It is not a situation that you should be expected to tolerate, let alone celebrate.
3. There is always a way out, if you want it. The thread is called Escape Committee for that reason

Remember: women talking to each other is a powerful weapon!

In four years we have gone from starting the first thread, to launching a website, to be invited to give evidence to a government inquiry, which is pretty spectacular when you think about it.

Thanks to all the women who have told their stories and particularly to those who have stuck around to help others. Thanks also to @socialworker222 who remains nice cop, to my stern cop.

De-lurking to say how extraordinary I think you all are. Strong, resilient women, every one of you.

Mother’s Day here in the US went ok. He’s on what I feel is a idealization cycle so I’m very on guard and suspicious. That gut instinct I have ignored so much I am holding on to now. It being the first one after the announcement I feared there would be an attempt to also have it be “his day”.

Southern it's good to hear you have freed yourself. And absolutely, you're not only their mother but have been a consistent parent and put your kids first. You will have their love, trust and respect. Meanwhile the mess that transitioning fathers leave behind becomes their responsibility to repair. As children get older, it gets easier to very simply support their decisions and wishes. Mine know they can change their minds, and have different choices from one another, going forward. You remain the rock but you get free and start again. You will so come out the other side. Life is good over here, and as Tinsel reminds me, so much better than having your life controlled, damaged and limited by a toxic and self-centred partner.

Just looked out of curiosity, as I don’t know much about this. However reading some of the stories it’s quite heartbreaking. So just sending sympathies and hope all women have a chance to be heard somewhere.

@SouthernTW, I'm so glad you're getting closer to being done with the legal stuff. Alas that's not the end of it... I know it's taken me a long time to get past the mindfuck aspects of this, and realistically I'm still working on it, but this is a huge step towards that.

I still feel shocked at the sight of my ex (mercifully only occasionally) sashaying round our (unfortunately not that big) town, shudder.

Interestingly that thread is being investigated after multiple reports. Maybe asking (mainly) women to collude with something fetishy is not ok after all...

I haven't had to see stbx in full femme yet. He's using the incremental boiling the frog method.

That thread was... odd. It may have been legit (a female poster) but had a very odd "validate meeee!" vibe to it.
