Lesbian Visibility Week

As Lesbian Visibility Week comes to an end, I want to make a quick reminder that
ALL LESBIANS ARE VALID!

Cisgender and Transgender women can be lesbians. Transgender men who date women don't consider themselves lesbians. All Lesbians deserve visibility!

Additionally, many have stated that they don't wish to date transgender people. That's fine! Just because someone is in the same dating pool doesn't mean you MUST be attracted to them. Plus genital preference is also totally fine! But don't forget, trans women are women so please do not degrade them just because you personally don't wish to date them.

Plus, let's continue to educate one another on the important information. Like preventing STI's as a lesbian, domestic abuse in lesbian relationships and how to deal with that, safe and consentual sex between lesbians. This is what we need to be educating young lesbians and bisexual women on.

Well, this thread has certainly been an education for the lurkers and watchers - lesbophobia, homophobia, racism, obfuscation, wilful misrepresentation of law, science and biology, and all of it from the anti women's rights side.

Did ASugarr get banned then in the end? She's on twitter crying about being silenced for using the c slur and how it's not a sslur and how we all need to wake up and agree with her. No mention of her hideous racist remark though of course. Good for MN for applying the rules equally for once if so.

I don't suppose she would boast about the repulsive racist comment. It would spoil the image of the pure and earnest influencer / ally that she portrays herself to be.

Well to be fair. She is simply repeating what she sees prominent activists get away with time and time again.

That rhetoric has been deemed as acceptable by many.

I did notice though that one monitor has been permabanned from twitter for their use of cis over the weekend.

Maybe posters here will take notice of that banning and realise that the tide has turned and the fallacy that people disagreeing with them are the extreme minority is getting harder to push.

I imagine getting repeatedly deleted for such a racist remark and the refusal to apologize when call out isn’t something to be proud of at all.

It will also follow that any future posts will likely result in demands from posters for that acknowledgement that they were so completely in the wrong.

I don't think they are permabanned, their account seems to be up and running. Sadly. Well I can still see everything there anyway. Maybe they appealed. Although seeing people get banned on twitter for the use of cis would be extremely satisfying.

Actually, having looked at Sugar’s Twitter for the first time, I think that being banned from here would be the best outcome for her.

I know someone with BPD and living with it is really difficult. She should really take more time to look after herself rather than trying to advocate for others. Sometimes we have to be selfish to get better.

That particular person is an utterly repulsive misogynistic. I can't imagine how it would feel to be so consumed with hate and bitterness towards women.

Quite, I've had that 'girlfriend' tune stuck in my head since Saturday night.

It does however help HQ to demonstrate that even with highly biased moderation to provide a lot of proof that they will go out of their way to enable 'the other side of the debate' to be heard, to express their side of things all they wish, and in fact given a great deal more freedom of expression and behaviour than the other side of the debate are allowed, who are strongly restricted and managed in order to ensure more favourable circumstances for those expressing this other side....

it still in fact doesn't help that side of the debate be any less problematic.

HQ can hardly be accused of trying to silence it though. They've allowed it to stand entirely on its own merits.
