Its a subcategory of straight that means that straight people can now be included in the lgbtqi+ categories. Or something. Hooray! Fight for my superstraight rights too Stonewall!. Or something

I'm wondering whether Gen Z just aren't on board with all this identity stuff like the Millennials.
I have two teens. One boy who firmly states that there shouldn't be anything apart from LGB because the TQIA damages gay peoples rights. One girl who identifies as bisexual which she defines as being someone whos attracted to people who are comfortable as boys or girls, not people with complicated gender identities.
My daughter does call me transphobic though
So I think there is a bit of a backlash in that generation.

I was teaching in secondary school up until three years ago. I saw loads of backlash against the tqia nonsense. LGB, the overwhelming majority of kids had no issue with. But start throwing lesbians with beards and 103 genders at them and most will call bullshit. But there were a clutch of TQIA kids (who, let's be honest were the kind of sidelined, awkward kids who in the 90s would have been goths/emos) who were very visible, and very supported by the school. The optics were very different from the reality.

I thought it was pretty clever 🤭

There seems to be a split between insiders and outsiders SirSamuelVimes. Insiders are dealing first hand with the people aggressively asserting these exotic identities and understand that some are sincere and some aren't. As such many insiders realise they don't have to be automatically deferential. Outsiders are baffled but skeptical, baffled but compliant, or xenophobic.

Yeah because sex has become such a taboo word, such a dirty word, we can't even say straight is someone who is opposite sex attracted.

We have to say straight is someone who is "opposite gender attracted..... Loads of words.... More words.... Never say sex"
