What's wrong with 'Cisgender'

As someone who identifies as a cisgender woman and works in sexual health, I am honestly confused as to why so many females (sex term) who identify with being women (gender term) dislike the term Cisgender?

Now I'm not here to tell you what to say, I am genuinely curious.

However, here is my opinion for those who may be interested.

Cisgender just means you are not transgender. That your sex links you your gender and you assign any gender terms (ie. Pronouns, Gender identity, sometimes gender expression but not always, etc). I personally don't like to think that just because I was born with a vagina means I am a woman because I know many men with vaginas and women with penises. Additionally those who don't have a gender identity, then that would mean you wouldn't use women and men as they're gender terms (according to medical professionals). It would make you non binary or agender.

I understand that the term 'Cis' has been used to insult others which for that I am sorry.
My view is that if you can't allow trans women to be accepted in society and identified as women (without the need for 'trans' infront of it constantly) then we should be using cisgender. It is a medical term that professionals such as the NHS recognize. But I understand that is just my opinion.

I probably won't be commenting as I can imagine this will be filled with comments and I don't want to disrespect anyone's views. Just a cisgender woman who wants to understand more...

And as always I would appreciate if you respect my view as I'm going to be respecting all of yours.

Why do people keep engaging with this poster, they appear to be tone deaf, and just keep stating their opinion over and over again as fact.

MN twitter account said that it was ok to say "cis" in context and wouldn't be deleted , to some real rotters yesterday.

So now we have a thread with OP loving that can say "cis" in every single post.
I think is just enjoying calling us "cis" constantly without being deleted.

I preferred when it was not acceptable , as suggested in the very special FWR rules.

Mockolate my kids cant get covid tests from school as the gender box is mandatory, and they dont have one. Its online, so cant be changed. Written consent wasnt good enough. Neither was verbal consent. Apparently I wasnt the first to register this as a problem, but there is no solution school will offer. No gender = no covid tests. Im not exaggerating.

So how is that helpful from a medical point of view?

It's amazing to watch really.

Once a person has devoted themself to upholding the opposite of the truth, everything else just becomes unmoored from reality. Nothing else has to make sense. Just cling to the idea that up is down as if your life depends on it and nothing else matters, and shout at everyone who points out you're falling into a black hole of senselessness.

Isn’t it true that if you say a perfectly normal word over and over again it sounds ridiculous? So perhaps saying a silly made up one will sound ridiculous even faster.

Id wouldnt mind a "no debate" rule on the dictionary when it comes to working out what words mean, but thats possibly a little too much to ask.

I think this is how the trans ideology lobby roll, insisting on usages that make no sense, making out that it’s terribly offensive not to do everything they say, then crying victimhood and attacks when people point out that it’s not logical.

I’m not transphobic - I think everyone should have the same rights, no one should be persecuted for their gender expression, it shouldn’t affect pay, opportunities or anything like that.

But that doesn’t mean I’m OK with being lied to and bullied to try to force me to proclaim that all the meaningless claims of trans activism are true. That’s what I object to and oppose. But the minute you stand up to or even just question lies and bullying, you’re “transphobic”. It’s gaslighting, manipulative pickiness in place of having a rational argument. It is SO reminiscent of trying to argue with my narc ex. Everything got twisted and made into victimhood.

It would appear so. I think I did spot someone misgendering, which isn’t cool, but there were no attacks. I just want this stuff explained to me, but it seems that it cannot be explained, and then people just run away.

I’m as angry about the heterosexual/homosexual thing as I am cisgender.

Indeed, it does make me question the ‘good faith’ position.

Hopefully though, others will have read this and thought about what is said. Maybe the OP will even think about what is said.

Op must work pretty short hours consider they were rushing off to work earlier, were back here in no time at all, and have been all over twitter as well this afternoon. Wish I had a job like that with such short hours. And unfettered t'internet access. What was it you said you did again op?....
