And all who have contributed obviously and MNHQ for allowing them to stay on AIBU in the face of some pressure.

These threads have been a welcome opportunity to interact with our fellow mums and discuss an issue that affects them and their children enormously.

In the spirit of democracy and freedom of speech these conversations are so important. Thank you all.

Do we know why they have been deleted @Datun? I am pretty annoyed about that. There was some really valuable discussion there. I also followed each one carefully, I saw no reason for deletion at all.

picklemewalnuts · 31/01/2021 14:10

And the original poster is on a ban?!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 31/01/2021 14:12

Interestingly, two out of the three AIBU threads have been deleted.

I can see 2 and 3 still? I'm posting on #3 right now

thatgingergirl · 31/01/2021 14:17

I think the 2 previous threads have just moved down the pages. No 2 is now on Page 6 of the AIBU board.

testingmitb · 31/01/2021 14:17

I've seen a couple of those threads on AIBU and thought well done to the poster for getting attention outside of FWR - so another well done from me. And if they have been deleted, well that says quite a bit doesn't it? Obviously AIBU is a very good place for these type of threads and get the attention they deserve. I will be looking out for and voting on similar threads.

Cagedbirdsinging · 31/01/2021 14:17

Placemarking

Floisme · 31/01/2021 14:33

I've found it quite thrilling to see the discussion taken out there. That goes for the TWAW arguments too - it'll be very interesting to see how they go down with a broader audience.

Thanks to everyone concerned.

BrassicaRabbit · 31/01/2021 14:45

That's one hell of a great result (91% / 9% right now with a whopping 866 votes).

I was expecting much worse, given that I'm guessing some kind of call to arms would have gone out? And given that we are still seeing the chilling effect of "no debate" in the public sphere.

Huge thanks to thewithesarehere

DialSquare · 31/01/2021 14:51

Thanks from me too.
I can still see all 3 threads.

DialSquare · 31/01/2021 14:53

I predict thread 3 filling up very soon too. Not going to say why but I think many regulars on here will know.

HermioneWeasley · 31/01/2021 14:53

Applause!

Datun · 31/01/2021 15:56

Oh gosh, I'm sorry. Someone said two had been deleted, and I went to check and couldn't find them. It made sense because another thread I was on was deleted, with the message it broke guidelines.

But obviously not the three consecutive ones in that case. Very sorry to mislead 😳

MaudTheInvincible · 31/01/2021 16:01

Thread three is currently showing its highest percentage of votes for YANBU yet

CostaDelCovid · 31/01/2021 16:04

[quote jeaux90]@CostaDelCovid a thread which would probably usually be over here was posted in AIBU about Helen Stanilad being banned from Twitter for the Stanilad question.

Because of the traffic over on that section it's now on thread 3 and has gained a lot of attention and discussion which is brilliant to see.

It got moved over here, not sure why, then moved back.

Kudos to the OP definitely [/quote]
Thank you Thanks

JoodyBlue · 31/01/2021 16:13

I had to stop reading, my head was hurting too much. Especially when the Katie Montgomery essay was introduced again. I think it is the 4th time I've tried to read it through to the end. I just can't get through it. I think it is the clown fish. Anyone had better luck (better concentration) than me?

AnyOldPrion · 31/01/2021 16:16

I was fascinated and heartened in equal measure by those threads. Normally on AIBU there’s lots of pushback and eye rolling, but this time there was very much more agreement, much of it by names I hadn’t come across. Surely a good sign, even if they have now been disappeared.

JoodyBlue · 31/01/2021 16:25

The one about JKR had over 1500 votes - 95% were not in favour of her being called transphobic. I don't know how many votes these things usually get, but that felt like a lot.

PurpleHoodie · 31/01/2021 16:32

I'm just here for littlebrowns arm flexes Grin

IM0GEN · 31/01/2021 16:32

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

ArabellaScott · 31/01/2021 17:23

Wow, I didn't realise there were now three threads! Epic. Well done, thank you and [strongarm emoji] [strongarm emoji] [crap at emojis]

winterinmadeira · 31/01/2021 17:26

Completely agree - bravo!

Biscuitsanddoombar · 31/01/2021 17:44

Sadly the thread has now caught the eye of a certain poster & I suspect will now be derailed to hell

NotFabulousDarling · 31/01/2021 17:52

Yes, thank you, I am not very good at breaking into the conversation as I don't really know a lot (I hit peak trans with the JKR stuff before my NC) and am mostly in learning mode with it all, but seeing these threads make it in AIBU with such good points raised and discussed has made me feel like the discussion is open to everyone, even if you're not 100% up on every aspect of all this stuff.
