like Graham Norton, this disappointed me in the Times today. I find it so patronising with regards those who have a stake in the debate on protecting sex based rights, and worryingly he is justifying the TRA aggression on the basis that this is how you get progress???

How many “oppressed” people have won their rights (though again, one must ask what rights trans people don’t have that the rest of us do) by using aggression and violence towards other oppressed groups and towards “opponents” who are physically weaker than them? Or by insisting that these groups give up their existing definitions and rights, that they fought for and are enshrined in law?

Norton is yet another in long line of gay men who has no empathy for or understanding of women.

I suspect he has ignorantly assumed that the fight for trans rights is exactly equivalent to the fight for gay rights, which he would naturally support.
As a man, he has no skin in the game, and obviously zero grasp of the threat to women’s rights, safety and even language.
Idiot. I wish he would pause for even a moment’s thought to wonder why so many women are objecting to this, when we support gay rights?

If he believes it's a tiny group that implies he really doesn't buy into the 'stonewall umbrella' - its stonewall who have been doing the conflating which had swelled the numbers.

He's not wrong to say that trans people are a tiny minority of people.

But he's missing the fact that trans rights advocates have somehow gained a disproportionate amount of influence and are making changes that will affect a very large and vulnerable part of the population.

I think he's from Limerick, isn't he? He should have a look at what's going on in their women's prison.

He's hugely ill-informed because he has no skin in the game. Nobody is scared of trans people ffs. He hasn't ever given a thought to the actual situation. It's pure ignorance and trivialisation.

No, Bandon in north cork, which is only a main road drive from Limerick. Anyway, that's besides the point.

I wonder how his wonderfully articulate and broad minded mother would feel about having her single sex ward in hospital shared with male bodies.
I suspect the same lady might be very much of the "put it away and cop on" variety.
