"Frankie has had many controversies in his career, including making jokes about the Queen and people with disabilities. Frankie says that it’s every comedian’s job, to different degrees, to, “take things that people would normally find offensive and make them funny.”

"Frankie does not have positive words to say about Ricky Gervais as a stand-up comedian. “If you’re a stand-up watching him, you feel like, ‘oh, that’s someone doing a version of what we do,’” he says. “But really, it’s that I saw him doing his routine about trans people and I thought it was very lazy [in a 2018 Netflix special, Gervais did a routine about Caitlyn Jenner and trans identity]. I would like him to have the same respect for trans people as he seems to have for animals. I don’t think that’s a lot to ask.”

What a prick

SunsetBeetch · 29/12/2020 09:58

Oh gosh what a surprise.

You know, I'm all for forgiveness and rehabilitation (RG apologised for his "m**g comment didn't he?), but Fanny Boil has such a obvious, deep-seated, seething hatred of women I can't see the New Him as anything other than cynical career progression.

SunsetBeetch · 29/12/2020 10:14

Making fun of Aids victims. What a good LGBT ally!

Oh apparently he believes in free speech sometimes. Like, when it applies to him.

@dyslek

Also a tax dodger, unlike JKR.

Funny how the modern left express their values.

I'm pretty sure JKR is of the left. I don't think ugliness of character and misogynist attitudes are necessarily indicators of any political outlook.
ArabellaScott · 29/12/2020 10:44

@BraveBananaBadge

Aaaaaaand... there it is 😂. Damien Barr, much?
All the truest trans allies have this kind of nonsense in the background, somewhere.

Odd, really, that gc women get all the stick for being transphobic - I've never used that T word slur in my life, and wouldn't.

So why is it that women are the butt of Frankie's worst attacks and violent imagery, and he is so sneering of trans people? He then swings from ridicule and sneering despisal to sudden pity for males who don't conform to his aggressive, macho posturing model of 'gender'?

He is no friend to trans people. Just another misogynist man.

'He has come under fire for his gags about Jade Goody, Madeleine McCann, swimmer Rebecca Adlington and the Queen (he tells jokes about men, but it is noticeable how many of his high-profile targets have been female)'

Honest to god, when this is all over, maybe it will at last be clearer that feminists are far closer in outlook and more sympathetic to gender non-conforming 'trans' people. But TRAs have twisted everything, to the continued advantage of white macho males. What a surprise.

AngelicaSchuylerAndHerSisters · 29/12/2020 10:47

Frankie Boyle writes comedy for a lot of other comedians - which they don’t admit to. He is capable of writing different types of comedy and more moderate styles, yet he chooses to shock. I find that disingenuous - and boring.

zanahoria · 29/12/2020 10:57

I honestly think the only reason FB has jumped on the TWAW bandwagon is because he knows that if he waves that flag, it will provide excellent cover for the vile stuff he's said about every other marginalised group, which he knows is unacceptable to a new generation of audiences

and it has worked, the Guardian used to be critical of him, the arricle posted is from 2012, now they sponsor him doing talks with Owen Jones a man so hypersensitive that he does not wish to be associated with anyone who is seen to be dodgy in woke circles but say the magic words 'Transwomen are women' then all is forgiven.

Yes, the idea one can 'be kind' to this one group and it's a get-out-of-jail-free card for all other abuse seems to be quite common.

BraveBananaBadge · 29/12/2020 11:00

Exactly, Arabella...

Passmeabottlemrjones · 29/12/2020 11:27

It's true he only ever really goes after women doesn't he, the Harvey jokes were meant to hurt and abuse Katie Price as well. Never picks on anyone his own size does he.....

Funny how he made so many 'tranny' jokes years ago as well, before that particular movement had any power either.

Anyway, its not going well for him if Twitter is anything to go by. Jonathan Pie has now tweeted calling him a hypocrite as well. Pink News have made themselves look like complete wallys by fawning over him (not that they seem to ever care about looking like wallys!) and I bet that even Owen Jones will soon slowly back away, whistling and innocently looking around as he does so Grin

SunsetBeetch · 29/12/2020 11:34

Twitter thread collecting some of his trans jokes. Also one where he sticks up for Suzanne Moore!

Oh but he has learnt from his mistakes now, he is a changed man. Learning about real bigotry through supporting trans ideology has made him more empathetic now... Or something.

Which is why he has of course given grovelling apologies to Katie Price and the female athletes he joked about raping.

This is nice

SunsetBeetch · 29/12/2020 11:44

The hits just keep on coming.

"Venus Williams has brought something different to the women's game - male genitalia."

"Jimmy Savile did an incredible amount of charity work towards the end of his life, just to be sure he could shag Madeleine McCann in heaven."

Plus more in the attached screenshots.

Of course TRAs are saying people can change, blah blah blah (funny they never apply this to people they don't like and have cancelled), and that what JK Rowling had said was so much worse.

As if we needed proof that transgender ideology is something that appeals to misogynists.

SunsetBeetch · 29/12/2020 11:46

Oh snap, littlbrowndog

I noted those screenshots had a "cannot load this tweet" message on the bottom, so he's either deleted them or blocked the person who took them. What a big, brave man.

SunsetBeetch · 29/12/2020 11:54

Sigh...seems to have quite the thing sbout women and trans people...

I suspect Andrew Laurence visits this part of the forum. His latest sketch on YouTube is taking the piss out everyone’s least favourite Glaswegian comedian.

Hi Andrew!

Passmeabottlemrjones · 29/12/2020 11:56

He did seem to have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with joking about rape didn't he?

SunsetBeetch · 29/12/2020 11:59

Homophobia.

(Someone posted this to Pink News. Will they care? Will they shite.)

There’s a fundamental difference between Jervais and Boyle that I think absolutely dictates where Boyle has decided to draw a line in terms of his offensiveness schtick. I think it may be down to the fact that I think Boyle is the parent of a teenager. It doesn’t hold him back from his apparent misogyny (rape crowbar FFS?!) but I think it may have dictated his stepping back from ‘going there’ with regard to this demographic. I mean if you’re prepared to do rape jokes, take the piss out of the disabled and children with Down’s syndrome surely you can also ‘justify’ jokes on other ‘sensitive issues’? No?

I’m someone that used to find him funny and ‘forgave’ him some of his transgressions but I guess I’ve grown up and lived life and learnt. I can still laugh at Jervais because I see more intelligence and obvious writing talent there. Boyle seems very one dimensional and stuck in a 90s comedic rut (albeit with the obvious self-censorship on a certain issue)

I’m sure a lot of transgender people find him unfunny too.

HecatesCats · 29/12/2020 12:05

The zealots ALWAYS have a closet full of transphobic comments, don't they? It's so predictable.

allmywhat · 29/12/2020 12:08

I guess Boyle's gross misogynist vileness is enough explanation on its own for his transactivism. Why wouldn't he gravitate to the opportunity to bully women even more? And then as others have mentioned, there's naked careerism and the opportunity to brown-nose the powerful while pretending to be edgy.

So in a way Boyle's switch to transactivism was already overdetermined and there's no need to invoke a further explanation? Still though, for some reason he makes me think about all the male TRAs who've turned out to have a deeply personal interest in dismantling safeguarding rules.

I like Andrew Lawrence's take on this.

HecatesCats · 29/12/2020 12:26

That's hilarious 👏🏻
