I was working in Australia in the 1980s so met her many times at various events (we ran a feminist group in my university department & she was a frequent speaker). She's a fantastic populariser of a lot of the feminist historical work that was done in the 1970s.

Hahahahaha. It’s a tricky one isn’t it? Eddies has a boob job? How many 58 year old women have a boob job (that’s not a reconstruction?).

He looked dreadful. It’s funny though as normally female presenters are preened to an inch of their life whilst on TV. Yet these men can go on looking like rough old sailers on a stag do. Yeah cos that’s what women really look like..

I am pleased that he is raising money for amazing charities (none of them are about gender-ism).

However, my womanhood is extremely offended that it can be appropriated a la Rachel Dozel pretending to be black or Hilaria Baldwin pretending to be Spanish.

You'd think so wouldn't you? But it doesn't work like that. However Eddie chooses to describe himself is accurate at all times. And it's always true. Even if obviously false.

But what I find so overwhelming and confusing is that … people seem to have fallen for this lie.

Why do you think Eddie's had a boob job? I'm pretty sure that's not the case. I don't think this is a medical or surgical transition in any way.

Why does pink lipstick, pink leggings and long hair mean woman? Totally offensive.

Slightly related. I listened to Louis Theroux’s “Grounded” podcast with Rylan something-or-other this week. They were discussing Pete Burns and how despite all the cosmetic work he had had done plus lipstick wearing etc he still identified as a male. Louis seemed unable to accept this and even said something along the lines of “maybe his pronouns should have been she”.,.I was really pissed off by this - lipstick and cosmetic work do not make a man a woman, and I was surprised to hear Louis Theroux think this way and display such a lack of critical thinking for someone who loves to mention his Oxford education and implied intellect. All those male pop stars in the 80s wore makeup but were still men. FFS we have gone so so so far backwards.
