Has announced new pronouns.

Again, apologies if this is being discussed already.

"They're not women's clothes, they're my clothes" seems to have been lost in the mists of time.

Not this woman mode. She is on semi strike at the moment and getting the boy modes to make her cups of tea and being the biscuits. She is in stroppy woman mode.

@NeurotreeWenceslas

That Thanks

I've said he, he says he on his website.

Why should we walk on eggshells?

What is this all about? Eddie asked for female pronouns to be used on Portrait Artist because he was in girl mode while appearing on that programme. And based on the fact that his own website continues to use male pronouns why can't we?

[quote ErrolTheDragon]The incident with the girls in the loos was occasioned by Eddie's first foray into public cross-dressing, and wanting to get back into a shared house in male clothes. No thought for anyone else.... the lack of awareness in this account is stunning.

And the question that keeps popping into my head is why didn't he use the gents?

pinbinpin · 21/12/2020 12:10

Right, that's it, I'm going full teenage-boy mode today. I'm already unshowered and slobbing around in scratty PJs so it won't be hard. Just going to kick some people off the Playstation and going to see what all this FIFA and Fortnite is all about.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 21/12/2020 12:12

Why thank you NeurotreeWenceslas... I have also opened a tin of shortbread which was going to go to a neighbour... my need is greater right now.

Howzaboutye · 21/12/2020 12:13

I had the misfortune to 'bump into' Eddie Izzard in Edinburgh during the festival in 2019.
He barged into me on North Bridge, which if you know Edinburgh, is a very busy road. Many double decker buses thundering past.
Yes reader, he tried to barge me out of the way and into the road.
A skirt and heels does not a woman make.

Luckily I've had training of not being barged into the road by a City of London commute, I've perfected my - hold my ground, got a bloody boney shoulder and elbow, don't barge me mister stance.

I did NOT go into the road.

I have never ever been barged like that by a woman, ever.

TheChampagneGalop · 21/12/2020 12:13

You're right!
Different rules for MN and Eddie's own website?

I think deletions have been for mentioning the F word...?

NeurotreeWenceslas · 21/12/2020 12:14

The other f word.

NeurotreeWenceslas · 21/12/2020 12:15

(I'm guessing. My memory is in hibernation mode.)

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 21/12/2020 12:16

Fanny? A perfectly useable insult in Scotland. Or a verb ‘to fanny about’?

TheChampagneGalop · 21/12/2020 12:16

Sorry about the double post. Enjoy the gaming pinbinpin!

NeurotreeWenceslas · 21/12/2020 12:17

Other other f word.

TheChampagneGalop · 21/12/2020 12:19

I hope it's not "FFS"

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 21/12/2020 12:25

Frangipan. Nasty stuff

ErrolTheDragon · 21/12/2020 12:25

I can't think of any other delete-worthy F words.Confused

I suppose someone who thinks kinks are necessarily shameful might report 'fetish' ... but there's nothing inherently wrong with fetishes so long as the normal rules re fully consenting adults are applied so it can't be that. Confused

PotholeParadies · 21/12/2020 12:26

Rhymes with Oddish the Pokémon?5

ErrolTheDragon · 21/12/2020 12:27

Oh wait, is it 'frumpy'?

UnWilly · 21/12/2020 12:28

Here's an article with an account of Eddie's 'firdt day out' with some additional commentary...

And the question that keeps popping into my head is why didn't he use the gents?

Because a different standard of behaviour is expected of men.

CatsCantCatchCriminals2 · 21/12/2020 12:32

I think we have probably seen the last of Lily Madigan’s political career.

Not heard of that name for ages! (Not complaining!)

If I remember correctly that person was a Labour something or other - that still the case?

pinbinpin · 21/12/2020 12:33

The deletions are for the A word, as it's a generalisation, apparently. Yet "girls like to wear overly sexualised clothes and fishnets to work and for international travel and titillate with school girl fantasies" isn't, apparently.

talesofginza · 21/12/2020 12:33

I saw Eddie Izzard once outside of Parliament some time back, in women's clothes. I remember thinking, good for him.

Recently I saw his appearance on Joe Rogan where he talked about the 'bathroom incident', making fun of some teenage girls who were alarmed at and challenge his presence, and found it highly creepy. Now he is jumping on this bandwagon and saying he is a woman? Screw you, Eddie. I almost hope he does go for a 'women's' role as I imagine the proverbial will well and truly hit the fan if he does.
