Gone because allegedly started by a PBP, so I don't suppose any of us will get an acknowledgement of how deeply offensive and borderline abusive the creepy pervy poster was being.

I think the "genitals in the face" post to me was the first time I have felt genuinely threatened by online behaviour.

I think they think Langry is Lang come back.

CoffeeTeaChocolate · 04/02/2021 08:47

I thought many of the posts and expressions were deeply unpleasant and misogynistic. And the poster was very aggressive.

The poster started by being reasonable and explaining how sorry everyone should feel for their child. Which is fair enough and many posters including me felt that she had been dealt a terrible hand. Unfortunately the same poster never showed any consideration for vulnerable girls.

Once it was clear that most posters wouldn’t put the trans child above girls and women’s right, the mask slipped and the abusive language and threats came out. I found it hard to watch to be honest.

Winesalot · 04/02/2021 08:49

There was a new poster yelling mantras and calling people bigots too.

PotholeParadies · 04/02/2021 08:52

Datun

Thank you! I was going down completely the wrong track of puns and so on.

It's very peculiar that this forum is scrutinised so closely.

CaraDuneRedux · 04/02/2021 08:53

Very sexualised abusive language.

That's what freaked me out. I genuinely felt threatened by that poster. And I got a very strong sense towards the end (usual disclaimer: no-one can ever tell on the internet) that they were not who they purported to be.

Just come on to read it and saw that it had gone. I think the threads have been a real eye opener for people who had no idea about the consequences of this ideology. Especially the response to No.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 04/02/2021 09:08

Ive been lurking on those threads

And i lurked on thread 5 as well

And i was surprised at the turn it had taken from the first 4 threads, some very nasty language

I went to bed at 11ish so i dont know how it went after that

But i found the purposeful evasion tiresome as i always do, i really can’t understand posters (and there have been a few) who outright lie about what other posters are saying. Its very difficult to get to grips with it because most of us can’t be bothered to check back on threads that are running into the 100’s

And purposeful twisting of innocuous posts...don’t like that either

PotholeParadies · 04/02/2021 09:10

From 11pm to 3am it went weird, Rufus.

ArabellaScott · 04/02/2021 09:10

5? Crikey.

Ah, a poster whose child had regular meltdowns and controlled everyone in the family yet was 'cool' and hip and everybody loved her?

Was this who was responsible for abuse? I hope not, the poster seemed fairly reasonable to begin with.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/02/2021 09:11

And Lang was banned (although not for WBH).

The only possible reason why she should have been banned Grin

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/02/2021 09:12

There was a new poster yelling mantras and calling people bigots too.

I missed that one, maybe after I went to bed.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 04/02/2021 09:13

@PotholeParadies

From 11pm to 3am it went weird, Rufus.
😱

Oh its not fair i miss this stuff

Its timist I dont think thats a proper ist but people who need lots and lots of sleep need protection in law

Actually i could ask my son to screenshot....but the first 4 threads went so well!

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 04/02/2021 09:14

@Ereshkigalangcleg

I never understood that
Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/02/2021 09:14

Just bobbing in to mention that the thread about my friend becoming not a woman has been deleted too. No explanation

Really? What was wrong with that thread, it's been up for days?

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 04/02/2021 09:15

I don’t know anything about after 11 arabella

But yes that who they mean

Winesalot · 04/02/2021 09:16

The usage of those terms truly completed the misogynistic vibes we’d been describing in previous threads.

To be honest, I got the vibes of a person who was in complete denial about their own misogyny all along. The lack of understanding of oppression, the delusion that it wasn’t there and the complete dissonance that their child’s distress was the only credible one and all others were paranoia that needed counseling to get over (but not their precious).

to then see those terms being used completed the picture. The hatred of women.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 04/02/2021 09:17

I think it would be much easier if we were told what we CAN discuss on FWR

So not recipes, not individuals (unlike the rest of the board), not anything that requires a sex based definition

Erm, must be others

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/02/2021 09:17

Agree, Winesalot

Winesalot · 04/02/2021 09:20

The new poster was around midnight.

Did you see after about 00:45 Potholes? I couldn’t stay awake. It was a complete shambles then. But some really good posts as usual too.

Biscuitsanddoombar · 04/02/2021 09:21

Yes. I stopped posting on thread 4 but I was reading & I did wonder what would happen as it became increasingly hard for them to justify what they were doing beyond ‘my child first & fuck all the others’. The cognitive dissonance was just getting stronger & stronger so not surprised it ended in a meltdown.

PotholeParadies · 04/02/2021 09:21

It all went a bit twitter, Rufus. People arguing whether communal changing rooms even existed, making wild accusations about the character of women who would use leisure facilities with communal changing rooms, shouts of TWAW and so on.

I engaged and asked if I could identify as irish and get an Irish passport and then went to bed before I got a response. And now, of course, the thread's been deleted.

PotholeParadies · 04/02/2021 09:24

Winesalot Did you see the excellent posts about the impact they'd witnessed on local Muslim women, who had stopped attending the women's swimming sessions?

CaraDuneRedux · 04/02/2021 09:26

Thing is... there's internalised misogyny, then there's just plain and simple misogyny. I know which one I felt I was on the receiving end of with the sexually abusive language directed towards me personally.

But we're not allowed to say this explicitly. I feel like I'm being gaslit. Subject to sexually abusive posts from a poster who is unlikely to match up in real life with the persona they've so carefully constructed online. Yet the thread gets pulled for a bullshit reason with no acknowledgement of the sexually abusive language from that poster.

OP posts:
Winesalot · 04/02/2021 09:27

No pot I did not see that.

As I have said. There was too many direct examples on thread 5. The question brought out people’s experiences.... that is not allowed to happen. Not allowed to stand. Because how can activists claim there is never an incident if women start actually documenting their experiences and how those got ignored by authorities or were not reported in media. They just can’t have that happen.
