It follows a tactic adopted by Tony Blair to deflect people asking him questions at PMQs when he would say something like "I refer the Honourable Gentleman to the reply I gave in the House on 4 February to the question asked by the honourable Member for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton".

Except nowhere near as specific.

TheChampagneGalop · 27/12/2020 15:37

Well it doesn't work very well to convince others does it. I'm always impressed by the gc posters here who happily write long posts with links if someone has a question, even if it's for the 100th time.

Biscuitsanddoombar · 27/12/2020 16:27

I’m intrigued to know in what why that person is a feminist young or otherwise....

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 27/12/2020 16:29

The new thread biscuits ?

Biscuitsanddoombar · 27/12/2020 16:32

That’s the one Rufus. I admire the patience of posters answering the same “oooh gotcha you with this one horrible bigots?” questions we’ve had a zillion times before....

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 27/12/2020 16:41

Starts off a bit rude but optimistic

Disappears for hours and then doesn’t answer any questions and tells posters they are wrong having never researched the uk situation

In fact this is exactly the same as a thread a few months ago

Another american if I remember rightly

midgebabe · 27/12/2020 17:01

I think I should write some standard answers in a document that I can cut and paste as needed

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 27/12/2020 17:03

That would probably be easier midge

ErrolTheDragon · 27/12/2020 17:09

I CBA to engage with that thread, but I'm minded of the Mark Twain quote:
^
“When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.”^

... I bet Mr Clemens Snr was wiser yet by the time his son turned 35.

HecatesCats · 27/12/2020 17:12

Ha! That's a great quote Errol

Manderleyagain · 27/12/2020 17:13

It's worth answering again for passers by, lurkers etc. So I'm grateful to those that do. Everyone found this place at different times so without people being consistent & setting out the arguments, even if the op seems a bit iffy, pennies wouldn't be dropping all over the place.

QueenoftheAir · 27/12/2020 17:18

We'd all be eternally grateful if you did that @midgebabe

TyroTerf · 27/12/2020 17:31

Is that the one with an OP asking how us terven witches explain intersex women?

It's not the gotcha they think. My own understanding of what it means to be a woman was very much informed by the experience an intersex woman who was very dear to me. I'm not going to chuck out her analysis of her own lived biology just to back up penis-born people's desire to join the woman club.

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 27/12/2020 17:45

god, someone get the mother of the person who started that thread a large fucking gin and tonic. raising that OP and then spending Christmas watching the fairy lights reflect off her titanic and ignorant self righteousness must be bloody tiring

the woman's a hero I tell you

and the rude twerp is basically trolling her mother by being here. she needs a good sit down in her bedroom

JohnMcClane · 27/12/2020 17:58

Well I call BS on the whole thing, young feminist? Identifies as young and a feminist maybe but we're all experienced enough to know that poster coming on to FWR describing themselves ans young and feminist are usually the complete opposite. I CBA to feed it

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 27/12/2020 17:59

I CBA to feed it

good choice. i need to step away. the whole thing is goady bollocks

ArabellaScott · 27/12/2020 18:08

Yep, same. If people are in good faith and wish to discuss then that's great. But hyperbole and the sneery tone? Fuck off, dear.

I found the

NeurotreeWenceslas · 27/12/2020 18:42

DramaLlama.

"I want to listen!"

"Listen to me"

"Booooooring."

TyroTerf · 27/12/2020 18:45

Yes, it just isn't a phrase you hear that often in real life, when you live somewhere where normal people don't have guns.

The drug dealers might have them, but even they're more likely to talk about blowing minds than brains.

HecatesCats · 27/12/2020 18:45

*I found the

Yes, same. As Michelle points out on the thread, this sort of thing always comes so soon into the conversation (and usually after they've realised they're out of their depth).

CaraDuneRedux · 27/12/2020 18:45

@RufustheSniggeringReindeer

I found the

Blow my brains out

Comment quite jarring

Yes, bizarre.

Tempted to say that's the point at which MNHQ ought to have pulled the thread, with a deletion message pointing OP to the Samaritan's website/helpline.

Don't pander to this bullshit.

OP posts:
NeurotreeWenceslas · 27/12/2020 18:48

The op is immature.

They've displayed their lack of emotional and any intelligence there.

WiltingAtTreadmills · 27/12/2020 18:50

Every time I don't feed one of these i make myself a cocktail and look at older, more specific FWR threads instead.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 27/12/2020 18:58

There are so many you must be permanently pissed wilting
