Maybe it will help the mods realise that there's mischief afoot against FWR. Or maybe they'll just shake their heads disappointedly at people failing to "be kind".

Seeing the level of confusion and immaturity on that thread makes it even worse when you see what men like Jolyon Maugham are campaigning for.

It sounded so much like my niece when she came out. Except she was furious I wouldn't validate her and told me so.

Shame it was deleted, there was an interesting comment on there about "feminine" online-speak that I was writing a reply to.

And the obligatory report to twitter about how transphobic MN is. All in good faith.

And of course, with it being deleted, no one can verify the accusation of terrible transphobia.

I finished reading it about fives minutes before it was deleted. Didn't see anything transphobic. Did see some sexism, but only from the OP.

I've got my own thoughts about that thread but because this one will be monitored and could be targeted for deletion I'm going to move on to discuss other stuff.

Toad-in-theHole made with beer in the batter, and cabbage-and-onion with it. Caraway seeds in the cabbage.

It's my first day off work for the hols, so I've baked some bagels. Sesame seeds are my favourite coating for them.

My DC are crazy for bagels but I have never tried baking my own.

Those "let me explain you bigots" threads seem to come in 2 main flavours:

1. a condescending voice having a male vibe;
2. emotional manipulation coming from someone who seems young, confused, and vulnerable.

This time it was type 2). They're both hard to read but type 2) threads with a vibe of self-harm are the most disquieting.

I do find though that the condescending male posters have no idea that they so clearly give their sex away in their posts. It's like they don't think we have centuries of programming to recognise it.
