J.K. Rowling is to guest on Graham Norton’s Radio 2 show, to talk about her new book The Ickabog, a new fairy tale about a mythical monster, a kingdom in peril and an adventure that will test two children’s bravery.

The author will join Graham on this Saturday morning show from 10am on 14 November, 2020.

Also on the programme...

Lastly, Graham talks to the writers of SIX The Musical, Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, which is scheduled to reopen in the West End with a series of socially distanced performances at The Lyric Theatre soon.

what is wrong with these people?

to atone for JK Rowling's sin of writing a harmless book for children, they have told you to instead buy 'when aiden became a brother'

You can watch a 'drag queen story time' version of this here

but afaict, this is a book aimed at 4 year olds about how 'Aiden' is born a girl but rejects nasty girly clothes and long hair and then becomes a boy, hurrah.

Bless them, they are only perhaps 3 or 4 years out from university. They know nothing. And of course they are trapped in wokedom.

FloralBunting · 14/11/2020 22:23

Oh well. She got to promote the charity work that is being supported by the Ickabog and say thank you to all the kids who did illustrations, and mention why she did it initially (to support parents with young kids stuck at home in lockdown)

I'm sure everyone listening will be struck by what a terrible person she is, and wonder why Graham wasn't asking some young wokester musicians what their pronouns are instead.

BettyDuKeiraBellisMyShero · 14/11/2020 22:24

I ordered three copies of The Ickabog today, one for each of my children (20, 14 and 9). Beautiful hardbacks are only a tenner on Amazon at the moment (I know, Amazon :/ but money is tight and half off means saving £30)

I’m going to have to sneakily read a copy while they are asleep, can’t bring myself to wait until Xmas and then wait again for one of them to finish the book!

Gosh, they really went all in - shaming a woman for talking about legally protected sex-based rights, glassy-eyed repetition of 'trans lives are valid!!!' without explaining what that actually means or who has said otherwise, and soliciting money for a group that advocates for unnecessary surgery and experimental drug treatments on minors.

This is going to age well.

stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 14/11/2020 22:29

May their socially distanced production get an extremely socially distanced audience.

HumanFemale1 · 14/11/2020 22:45

Hope the door doesn't hit them on the way out.

BaronessWrongCrowd · 14/11/2020 22:47

Imagine being that far up your own arse that you think that people, the majority of whom have never heard of your or or musical, would care about what you think. Hmm

stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 14/11/2020 22:59

They might be able to see an audience up their own arses.

Back in the real world....

littlbrowndog · 14/11/2020 23:01

Aw missing them already

Who are they ?

IDanielRadcliffe · 14/11/2020 23:01

Theatre along with the rest of the arts is having a very difficult time at the moment. Therefore a great time to turn down a big promotional opportunity Hmm
I hope everyone else involved with the show is happy with their decision.

CodenameVillanelle · 14/11/2020 23:02

Gormless twats

WhatsthetruthRuth · 14/11/2020 23:10

I think they’ve LITERALLY saved some lives by not being interviewed by Graham Norton. Well done! I’m so happy for this privileged Oxbridge duo (who’ve made their fortune off the back of a musical featuring the murder and beheading of women - with sequins!!)

corlan · 14/11/2020 23:14

How pompous of them.

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 14/11/2020 23:16

Their loss

DidoLamenting · 14/11/2020 23:22

I'm glad I don't know who you are at all. Long may that continue

From twitter- I concur with the sentiment.

Blindingly0bvious · 14/11/2020 23:31

Hahahahahahaha! I predicted this!!! Told my DH when I saw GN was having a chat with JKR that some woke bastard guests would kick off. Absolutely predictable that these know-nothings that nobody has heard of would turn down an opportunity to be promoted by Graham Norton in order to look woker than woke. Exactly what they deserve. Love it. Bless them and their tiny pronouns. May they self righteously nod at each other, silently, in front of a scant fire, in their jimjams, waiting for their agent to call...

ShallICompareTheeToASummersDay · 14/11/2020 23:33

Gah! I love their musical, Six. What a letdown

FamilyOfAliens · 14/11/2020 23:33

Bless them and their tiny pronouns.

Grin
littlbrowndog · 14/11/2020 23:34

Lols blindly. Their wee tiny pronouns.

PamDenick · 14/11/2020 23:38

Interesting, isn't it? Yes, we were waiting for this to happen. Good on Graham Norton though on not backing away from interviewing JKR.

BraveBananaBadge · 14/11/2020 23:40

I’m always struck by these demands for people to a) ‘make amends’ for not towing the line, and then, inevitably, a call for cash donations instead. It’s ludicrous. The ‘significant efforts’ they call for will never be enough —because JKR isn’t fucking ‘transphobic’—

Although calls of ‘who?’ are probably fair enough in the R2 listening figures scheme of things in this case, I always find it a bit of a disingenuous argument on here. SIX is a highly acclaimed and well known show. And one I always wanted to see (it’s touring run was sold out in my city before lockdown and a drive in tour was cancelled because of Covid). These things work both ways - I won’t waste my time now.

BaronessWrongCrowd · 14/11/2020 23:43

This. Mind you if it is choice between one of the world's best selling authors and two woker than woke people that no one has heard of... I know who I'd prefer.
PamDenick · 14/11/2020 23:43

Yup, in my circle SIX is pretty well known but I won't bother booking for it now.

DidoLamenting · 14/11/2020 23:44

I'd vaguely heard of this musical. Fortunately musicals are my least favourite art form so missing out on it won't be a hardship. I've had a quick gander on YouTube- it seems to be the bog standard forgettable musical songs (and yes , so is Hamilton)
