Ridiculous it's females as in the female sex that have periods & that includes TM.
TM may use the term as man as in gender as gender is a social construct.
I have no problem referring to TM as men or TW as women (as in which gender they want to use) & have no problem with a realistic looking or nice pleasant gender dysphoric TW using a womens toilet.
I do have a problem with a man who has autogynephilia.

However biologically TM's are of the female sex & TW's of the male sex.
Sex is a biological fact.
You can't change your chromosomes unless you happen to be one of those fish/animals that can change sex & produce both eggs & sperm.
As far as I know no human has Sequential hermaphroditism.

Women are responsible for 80 percent or so of household shopping/budgeting aren't we?

Its astounding how the very young woke vote when their stuff is often bought by their parents ( namely the mother) and the male vote is always so much more important.

NRatched · 24/10/2020 21:27

@Deliriumoftheendless

So let me check I’m up to date with my slogans-

Transwomen are women
Women are non transwomen
Transmen are people who bleed
Men are men

Inclusive.

Looks about right.

Much progress, don't you think?

Escapeplanning · 24/10/2020 21:27

This reminds me of a drunk night out when my drunk male boss bashed his head and it started to bleed. I, also a little drunk, had a Tampax in my pocket and dabbed his bleeding head with it. Next day he asked me what happened and why he had a bloody Tampax in his pocket.

So I guess they're exploring new markets here for all people who bleed, have one in your pocket for drunk bleeders and you won't go wrong. There's even a handy bit of string so you can tie it on to the bleeder with if they are too drunk to hold it.

I might go on Dragons Den with this bloody hot idea.

InFlagranteDerelicto · 24/10/2020 21:31

Fact: some women don't have periods.
Yes. We know. Some women have hysterectomies.
All women go through menopause eventually, early or otherwise.
A small number of women never have any kind of normal cycle.
Some women have no choice but to take drugs to suppress their periods as they're intolerable.

But we don't make a song & dance about "not having periods". That would be the preserve of marketing teams trying to sell a product, & people who have no idea what it's like to be a woman.

Personally I'd love to have no periods. They're shit. They serve a purpose. Like paying a very expensive mortgage.

Then I apologise for the curt response. If there was ever a time to put the battle of the sexes on hold I would think it is now.

Profers handshake! Can I just say how refreshing it is to have an online discussion where a misunderstanding is cleared up quickly and amicably, and people agree they'd be better off working together? Smile

Haha! Agreed but I doubt it'll catch on.
bellinisurge · 24/10/2020 21:33

I'm proud to say my dd has only ever used reusable pads. Some homemade by me. Others bought from Uk makers like English Garden Lovelies.
It is entirely her choice.

bumbledeedum · 24/10/2020 23:05

@AskingQuestionsAllTheTime

I have been seriously told that Tampax are rather good for immediate first aid staunching high velocity bullet wounds.

(I didn't ask why the person who told me this knew that: he isn't an American and has never been in the forces. I would have thought that what kills you would be the exit wound, but I suppose if it hadn't then you'd need to stop the bleeding at the entrance wound while you were getting proper medical assistance.)

So as well as being for women who menstruate, Tampax really are for people who bleed. Sort of. In a very highly specialised set of circumstances. I wonder whether the SAS carry a few Tampax at all times just in case...

Can't comment on the SAS but I know a few marines who do, apparently they make excellent firelighters. Perhaps Tampax should add 'for people who get cold' too for fully inclusive marketing.

@Floisme

Right so if my son had started bleeding from his genitals when he was 11, I should just have said, 'Congratulations, darling, you're a person who bleeds.'

Not only nonsense; irresponsible, dangerous fucking nonsense.

you sound a bit confused and that you think it's biological men that they're referring to? They're referring to trans men - ie, biologically female so could still quite easily have periods!
CaterwaulingPeasant · 25/10/2020 00:49

I can’t even with this shit anymore. Males really have nothing in their tiny brains/lives if they have time to come up with this bullshit.

I’ll be over there ——-> doing meaningful stuff, and you know having a life while they gaze into their navels above their brave little penises and invent some new way to try & interrupt mummy women.

yourhairiswinterfire · 25/10/2020 01:02

you sound a bit confused and that you think it's biological men that they're referring to? They're referring to trans men - ie, biologically female so could still quite easily have periods!

No one's really confused, just poking fun at the absurdity when you imply men/males can have periods.

We know transmen have periods, because they're transmen. So there's no reason to avoid saying women and transmen, unless of course, they're really doing this to please the ejaculators that don't want us to have the word woman. Of course they're also now dressing it up as concern for women who have gone through the menopause or don't have a uterus who'll be traumatised to see the word woman, when in truth they didn't give a flying fuck about these women until it suited them.

Transwomen may need Viagra, condoms, prostate exams, but I don't see a push to dehumanise men to include them, do you? Wonder why that could be...

Sewsosew · 25/10/2020 01:07

Women grow beards and facial hair too. No one has argued that any of the male products aimed at men (and often mention men on the packaging) should have ‘man’ taken off them.
THIS is why it’s all bullshit.

Quaagars · 25/10/2020 01:16

I think the analogy of condoms and Viagra etc is a bit different though? Why would they want to be included in what they are identifying OUT of, ie male? Not the same as a trans man wanting to be included IN what they have no choice with - ie, periods.
newnameforthis123 · 25/10/2020 01:06

Ill never understand how people who say "transwomen are women" want to erase the word "women". If you want to be part of a group and show solidarity with them, why would you then erase their name? I can only assume because it's the solidarity isn't actually there.

jdoejnr1 · 25/10/2020 08:26

Why is there so much negative comments about men on this thread. Men are not causing this issue 'TRANSmen' are causing the issue. As I've pointed out previously on this thread there are loads of men challenging this nonsense online and fighting against this woke ideology. Or are people on here so desperate to score points against men they'll alienate 50% of the population who could help turn this around. And let's not forget then many of those pushing for these changes are women. We should focus on getting 'sex' back on the agenda.

StanfordPines · 25/10/2020 08:32

Transmen aren’t causing the issue at all.

mum2jakie · 25/10/2020 08:34

I don't think there have been negative comments about men on this thread? The negativity is aimed at a company prepared to alienate women by trying to pretend that anyone needing their products isn't actually a woman. All this shit about 'myths' when we all know what the real myth is!

And I've spent years not having periods as an adult woman - thanks to several pregnancies and breastfeeding three kids through to weaning - I never felt that I needed to be singled out in Tampax marketing. "Not all women bleed" Hmm

StanfordPines · 25/10/2020 08:34

If it was transmen who were the ones getting upset then why are products for men almost always labelled as such? Why are transmen not getting upset that they are not the kind of man who has a penis and therefore don’t require penis related products.

FairFridaythe13th · 25/10/2020 08:35

The only ones I see pop up on twitter most certainly aren’t.

It seems to be people who aren’t actually under the umbrella (in the traditional sense) and are just ‘at it’ (as my dad used to say).

Babdoc · 25/10/2020 08:36

jdoejnr1, I doubt that it’s transmen causing this nonsense. They were raised and socialised as girls, so lack the sense of entitlement.
It is more likely being driven by men. Men who run advertising campaigns, and who want to virtue signal in hope of scoring woke cookies from brainwashed young female trans ally handmaidens.
Let’s hope the absolute torrent of outrage they’ve received on Twatter will make the idiots think again about the stupidity of offending their core market. Women.

Whatwouldscullydo · 25/10/2020 08:36

Wonen aren't listened too. Even where they ID as men.

If they were then the scented rash causing shit would have been withdrawn as thousands if women complained. And women also complained when sold shitty pads in Africa.

As you can also see women also complain and get ignored and blocked when telling them how offensive being labeled a bleeder is.

They may let the odd transman take the odd win to divert from the fact that women aren't listened too even when a product is exclusively for them. But women had no part in this

FairFridaythe13th · 25/10/2020 08:37

Outrage won’t - loss of sales will. It’s all about money. If they thought referring to customers as ‘kumquats’ would increase sales they would.

FairFridaythe13th · 25/10/2020 08:38

It was a trans man who got Always to drop the female symbol wasn’t it?
