Langcleg is vindicated

Mumsnet thought that Langcleg was wrong to state safeguarding regarding children who thought they were trans. When langcleg argued for our kids Mumsnet didn’t like it. Mumsnet caved to the men. Instead of champion safeguarding, Mumsnet got rid of an expertise on this. Well, Langcleg was right and the Tavistock judicial review shows this.
Langcleg kept me sane in a world where others tried to gaslight me for my refusal to believe that my child was born in the wrong body.
Shame on you Mumsnet for cancelling the very people who help us parents. The voice of sanity. More importantly the voice of support. Do you really think langcleg did this for her own gain? No. She did this to protect us all. Gonna report this post now to bring it to the attention of the monitors.
Langcleg if you are still reading these posts I thank you so much for you help. I wish you were here now to comment on the Tavistock review and feel vindicated.

DH looked rather horrified when he came across the thing that looks like a miniature Klingon weapon.

FloralBunting · 10/10/2020 17:31

I don't know what you're all on about. My kitchen drawer is stuffed full of veryusefulthings and I place high value on my dinky little knife sharpener and silicone egg poacher. And I can't think of much more worth worshipping than magnificent saggy titted women.

TinselAngel · 10/10/2020 18:08

This reminds me the Lakeland catalogue came yesterday and I've not looked at it yet.

Junkc0llection · 10/10/2020 18:12

Quick name change - I bring you my Granny's mincer.

I have too much kitchenalia to hide in drawers.

Langcleg is vindicated
RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 10/10/2020 18:16

Oh the catalogue is really good tinsel

Ive folded Down loads Of pages 😀

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 10/10/2020 18:16

That thing looks scary junk 😀

Antibles · 10/10/2020 18:17

Sounds like some of your houses, like mine, have the potential to be declared temples of major historical significance in the future.

Except Errol's which is more likely to be designated some sort of fort/arsenal for a tribe of tiny toddler warriors or similar.

FloralBunting · 10/10/2020 18:19

I love Christmas catalogues. I'm such a sad act that I used to cut out pictures from them and play with them like a paper doll house.

langclegflavoredbananamush · 10/10/2020 18:22

Question: is the banning of langcleg something that has produced an effective which amplifies her point?

I suspect that it's had this effect to some degree, especially with regard to the importance of safeguarding in general and how gladly some would like to shut down discussion on the topic, but speaking as someone who came to this forum with only the vaguest idea of what safeguarding is and how its presence or absence can play out in various real life situations, I find it to be a poor substitute for her well laid out, uncompromising, and thought provoking clarifications.

Not to mention the chilling effect on as yet unbanhammered posters, who have to navigate between sufficient naiceness and calling it as they see it.

When the children were littler i would give them the argos catalogue to cut up for their Christmas lists

I'd forgotten what my last post was to merit that remark.Grin
(It's just a double bladed mezzalune, but with one curved handle not the traditional two.)

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/10/2020 19:03

I comfort myself with the thought that it is an unlikely scenario that MNHQ will say "Oh alright, Lang can come back, but only if Tinsel eats the WBH"

I felt the same Grin

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/10/2020 19:03

And then it would be worth it

FloralBunting · 10/10/2020 19:15

Is a mezzalune one of those curved knives you rock around on fresh herbs? Them look well gadgety cool (and a bit pointless).

TinselAngel · 10/10/2020 19:56

Lakeland catalogue disappointing. Too Christmassy.

That's the thing. It was a free gift - come to think, probably from Lakeland. It is literally pointless but very sharp. However I usually forget it's lurking in the back of the drawer, and use scissors to chop herbs if I'm not being faffy and tearing them.

(I hope these diversions are taken in the spirit they're meant - bumping this LangCleg thread.)

Us talking bollocks is what she would have wanted.

It's not to say we don't have full sympathy with the OPThanks

What?

But youre name!

How can you be a tinsel angel and think the lakeland catalogue is too christmassy???

I don’t understand 😩

(I dont like all the hampers)

FloralBunting · 10/10/2020 20:26

I've never understood hampers.

Jars. In a basket with some shredded paper. Don't get it?

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 10/10/2020 20:52

Oh my actual god...i do know its ‘your’

They are so expensive floral

Deliriumoftheendless · 10/10/2020 20:58

You can’t have too much kitchenalia.

I have a set of atomic fondue forks and I’ve never even seen (except in pictures) fondue, let alone eaten it! (It sounds terrifying/disgusting.

(And if that isn’t in the spirit of LangCleg I don’t know what is)

ErrolTheDragon · 10/10/2020 21:01

I've always assumed they're for giving - sorry, gifting - to people if you don't know what they'd like but you have to get them something, and it has to be something overpriced.

My user name is from a song, I didn't choose it for anything to do with Christmas.

I don't even particularly like tinsel Blush

How are the fondue forks atomic? (Other than in the respect that everything is made of atoms).
