Stop engaging with derailers.

tearinyourhand · 30/08/2020 23:27

The same arguments rehearsed day after day.

Because day after day people post the same faux innocent questions, and say they simply don't understand.

And it's weird that only one side of the discussion is shot down as being repetitive and boring.

RedtreesRedtrees · 30/08/2020 23:28

I think the sports aspect merits a thread of its own. There’s too much of it to just tag on to Nigella Lawson and it’s a bit late to get into it now. I understand why you want to portray Fallon in the way you do and I don’t entirely disagree with you. But it’s interesting that the trans person you picked to highlight the unfairness of trans women in sports was beaten by a female in open competition.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 30/08/2020 23:29

@Catsfriend

Stop engaging with derailers.
Good advice

Both ways to be fair

some threads just end up with goading and faux innocence, it would be great if this one didn’t go the same way

When I go on house buyer threads the same things are wheeled out again and again, like location really matters.

When I go on relationship threads, the same things are wheeled out again and again.

Even style and beauty which is of course subject to the whims of fashion has the same advice over and over.

The basics don't change.

Males are physically different to females. Everybody knows it. Everybody can see it. Males pose a threat to females. Everybody knows it. Every society has built safeguards to protect females from males, throughout all of history. All your arguments for dismantling this boil down to "the males want it, the males need it, so you females have to go along with it."

I mean, really, what a ludicrous thing above where it was suggested a male boxer could fairly fight females. That's just daft.

yourhairiswinterfire · 30/08/2020 23:37

I'm part of a cross stitching forum. All they ever fucking talk about is cross stitching. So repetitive.

DialSquare · 30/08/2020 23:37

There are many lurkers on this board. I was one of them. All I ever saw were funny articulate intelligent women putting their points across. I've never seen a counter point that stood up to scrutiny. I believe many lurkers reading this will come to the sane conclusion as me.

Are you seriously suggesting that if a man is beaten once by a woman then he might be reasonably eligible to compete against all women?

In a sport where it is famously easy to throw a fight?

Your name....stupid fingers 😡

@Quaagars

Has anyone denied reality though? Certainly no one on here has Whatever You Or Fuckwits On Here Might Think See Can Do This Too
I don't think you know how this game works.
PheasantPlucker1 · 30/08/2020 23:40

I think these threads are great.

Yes its repetitive, but there are so many lurkers asking the same questions we are, and reading the nonsense replies our sensible questions yet.

Even JKR lurked on twitter for a long time reading it all. People are starting to realise in greater and greater numbers.

TorkTorkBam · 30/08/2020 23:41

@Quaagars

Well, yes, we have been told that males who say they identify as female are as safe to females as females are.

There is abundant evidence that this is not true. Reality.

Quaagars · 30/08/2020 23:43

Males are physically different to females. Everybody knows it.

Nobody has said otherwise.

Males pose a threat to females. Everybody knows it
*SOME males pose a threat to females. Yeah, comes across as NAMALT it's true though
Go by the person
Not who you think they must be due to prejudices in my opinion

yourhairiswinterfire · 30/08/2020 23:44

I don't want or need to portray Fallon in any particular way. Fallon portrayed herself as a bully, by bragging about cracking a woman's skull open. It's not true sportsman-or woman-ship to brag and express joy about dealing your opponent a potential life threatening injury.

I'd think very little of ANY sportsman or woman who acted in that way.

RedtreesRedtrees · 30/08/2020 23:45

@yourhairiswinterfire But in your cross stitch forum do people literally post exactly the same comments?! It just baffles me that people don’t get bored!

PheasantPlucker1 · 30/08/2020 23:45

Quaagers so do you tell transwomen they are being prejudice by refusing to share spaces with other males?

No? Why not pratice some equality and go tell them to stop discrinimating and be kind, too.

Quaagars · 30/08/2020 23:46

I think these threads are great

Same and I was one of them too, think there must be a difference between some on here (not necessarily you) just in general - come completely new to the "debate" but I read both sides.

How do we know which males are OK and which are not?

Why do we have sex segregation at all if it is possible to pre-filter the males to spot who won't leer at you in the shower or pin you in a corner in a refuge?

Quaagars · 30/08/2020 23:48

Quaagers so do you tell transwomen they are being prejudice by refusing to share spaces with other males?

How would trans women be being prejudiced by going into male changing rooms and toilets? Confused

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 30/08/2020 23:48

so i'm not allowed to want privacy from my father in law, because he doesn't pose a threat to me?

RedtreesRedtrees · 30/08/2020 23:48

But pheasant the questions never get replies. And I’m not sure there are as many lurkers as you think. But who knows, as long as you’re enjoying it then it’s a positive.

DialSquare · 30/08/2020 23:48

I read both sides too but the gender ideology side didn't make and sense. A bit like your posts.
