What’s SFW please? Thanks

Toseland · 26/07/2020 10:07

I think it’s ‘Standing for Women’

Redshoeblueshoe · 26/07/2020 10:17

Well I'm still excited. 🍷

EmpressJKRowlingSpartacus · 26/07/2020 10:20

Whatever Posie’s up to seems to be Scotland-related.

I like the suspense, it’s entertaining.

Unformidable · 26/07/2020 10:21

Just seen this on Harry's FB

Something beginning with S...
We had hoped to announce our move tomorrow. However, a new cowboy just rode in to town and we’re doing our best to get them on side.

EileenAlanna · 26/07/2020 10:22

I've 5 litres of home-made wine Wine Wine Wine here I'm going to start on now while I wait. Will it be enough?

FusionChefGeoff · 26/07/2020 10:25

@Spero

If it goes wrong it doesn't matter. Something else will go right. We fight on.
And THAT is what we have to always remember.

We know what we are doing is right.

And what they are doing is wrong and dangerous.

It will always come right in the end. And if it's not all right (all together now....!)

It's not the end!!!

heathspeedwell · 26/07/2020 10:27

So who could this 'new cowboy' be?

highame · 26/07/2020 10:33

Roy Rogers, Clint Eastwood

Or a group of very iffy builders

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 26/07/2020 10:40

I'm not complaining about anything. Unless the thighs come back and release a bunch of sex penguins. It took AGES to clear up last time.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/07/2020 10:41

As long as there are no seals, it's fine.

Mydogisthebestest · 26/07/2020 10:52

I think it’s a bit ner we know something you don’t know.

Sorry.

I’m gender critical, I’m onside but I just don’t like the them and us and them what know feel of this.

And now I feel like I’m not welcome here and I’ve said the wrong thing. Oh well.

FannyCann · 26/07/2020 10:52

I’m still enjoying the suspenders...

Ah those were the days. A generational divide between me and my older sisters. They wore suspenders. I got tights.

I used to love to chant a little rhyme:

"A lady stopped to sniff a rose
Its scent so sweet and tender
Alas she stooped a bit too far
And pop went her suspender"

The young ones today don't know what they are missing.

Also enjoying a little suspense Spero
This thread is like the chatter in the theatre whilst waiting for curtains up.

Also wondering about Scotland and cowboys now.....

CarnivorousYoni · 26/07/2020 11:08

Jaysus, what is with the 'us and them' stuff? Has it occured to you that those involved are not deliberately with-holding information, and were in fact very excited to share good news until they had to postpone? That maybe postponing was for a really good reason? That the idea was actually to welcome everyone who is on our side into the anticipation of what is on the horizon?

If we're all on the same side, and I believe most people here are, then please don't view this as a badly motivated exclusion. It was meant entirely the opposite way.

highame · 26/07/2020 11:09

I don't know any Scottish cowboys - does Rob Roy count?

Grumblyberries · 26/07/2020 11:12

I don't like the idea of describing it all as a bit of a game - 'our move', 'our side', etc. It seems to diminish the seriousness of it all.

SerenityNowwwww · 26/07/2020 11:13

@heathspeedwell

So who could this 'new cowboy' be?
Scot Newgent?
Binterested · 26/07/2020 11:15

It’s not an us and them thing. They may have journalists working on a story and these are routinely embargoed until an agreed date - legal action might delay any release. Or they are putting together a court case and new information has come to light. It’s just the way these things work - stories don’t appear at random. They are planned sometimes weeks in advance but are at the mercy of other news stories which may take precedence, legal action, what other papers are working on etc. If it is a news story the editor will have to judge the best time to release the story depending on all these factors.

MorrisZapp · 26/07/2020 11:17

There used to be a little cowboy who went round Edinburgh telling people to 'stick em up'.

Melroses · 26/07/2020 11:19

I'm sure it is like busses.

You wait for ages and then three come all at once Wink

SophocIestheFox · 26/07/2020 11:21

The Milky Bar kid?

I’m not taking this at all seriously. I don’t feel “us and them”. I’m just passing some time processing my new seal facts and thinking about art Smile

RoBollox · 26/07/2020 11:25

@Mydogisthebestest I'm mostly a lurker but you are definitely welcome on here. I happen to agree entirely with you and a couple of other posters who say it's annoying. I don't mind people disagreeing with me, that's fine but I can state my point and find support usually too. In fact even if I don't find support I can still make my voice heard. Someone will read it and will provide food for thought. Differing opinion is healthy.

highame · 26/07/2020 11:29

@Grumblyberries

In no way does my ability to laugh, diminish how seriously I take this situation. Whilst laughing at this thread, I have been writing stacks of letters, doing a lot of research and worrying about how difficult this roll back is going to be.

I still have a cracking sense of humour and I have cried with laughing at some of the posts, lovely relief and able to crack on with renewed vigour. I am not alone in this

EyesOpening · 26/07/2020 11:29

@Toseland

I think it’s ‘Standing for Women’
Thanks, I’m still none the wiser though, can’t find anything for that. Would someone mind giving me a (massive) clue please
