I have very much enjoyed this thread, still bloody 😬 at the waiting thing though.
What’s not to like with a Kill Bill Jesus and marauding, frisky sea dogs.

I have washed. And I’m going to open some wine.

Cheers.

Mydogisthebestest · 26/07/2020 09:10

Yeah I’m kinda over this now too.

I don’t like this way of doing it. Just tell us when there’s news but this feels like we are being strung along. And I personally don’t like it.

boatyardblues · 26/07/2020 09:11

I’ve enjoyed this meandering thread and all the diversions (except for the rapist seals), but I agree with being done with the hints and winks. Enough already!

Winesalot · 26/07/2020 09:11

I have to say that I was horrified a few years ago when I discovered the seal behaviour towards penguins.

I discovered it when my daughter was told she was wrong in placing penguins as a food source for seals when studying food chains. She’d done this exercise in Sydney (studying Anartica) less than 12 months prior to repeating it again in London (food chains). She was most indignant because she knew she was correct. And he’d used the words ‘good friends’ when describing the relationship in nature.

I was looking for a resource to show her so that she could refer the teacher to it and discovered so much more than I expected. Not only do they eat penguins, they can be very cruel in the way they play with them sometimes before eating them. And yes... rape is just one of the things they do.

So in the end, we told her to maybe ask her teacher to do his own google search when speaking to him quietly and mention not to do that with the class watching. And to not ever say that penguins and seals were good friends again. Grin

CillaTape · 26/07/2020 09:18

@Mydogisthebestest agreed. Being strung along is exactly it. I think it comes across very badly. Its creates unnecessary feeling of people "in the know" and people "out of it", no one needs that kind of patronising division especially at the moment. It's silly, unprofessional and demeans what feminism is trying to achieve, making us look like squabbles between milk monitors rather than life and death situations.

FreezerBird · 26/07/2020 09:26

I was just reading the latest tweet and noticed that we get a mention in the responses

That's hilarious!

Agreed that it's all feeling a bit strung along now. However I have massively enjoyed this thread.

Also, while I know it's been mainly light-hearted, I have also enjoyed the fact that there has been discussion of some issues (thinking of the Bible/religion/patriarchy stuff) where there are probably deeply felt disagreements between posters and yet the conversation has been pleasant, informative and quite thoughtful.

People disagree and yet no one has been instructed to die in a fire. Who would have thought that was even possible?

highame · 26/07/2020 09:26

Much as though I understand this waiting being viewed as childish, unprofessional, etc. I think there has been so little good news on this front that I'm not going to run down any group, who know something 'big' is coming along and wanted to put a smile on feminist faces.

Well, I'm smiling and hoping and If I need to get upset in a few days time, then I will. No doubt FairCop will also be upset if expectations aren't met - just saying I can wait and this thread has been great fun

FannyCann · 26/07/2020 09:28

Hmm. Rapists...good friends...I'm a bit worried about that teacher now. 🚩

testing987654321 · 26/07/2020 09:29

Meh. It's a bit silly when it doesn't come off.

In contrast, my instinct is to do stuff openly and spread information as soon as I get it. Strangely secretive types tend to avoid me.

DialSquare · 26/07/2020 09:29

I agree with highame. It's feels like the tide is turning and something like this gives me hope even though it is a bit frustrating. And we wouldn't have had this thread if the carrot hadn't been dangled!

testing987654321 · 26/07/2020 09:32

we told her to maybe ask her teacher to do his own google search when speaking to him quietly and mention not to do that with the class watching.

I love this.

I'm a bit of a blabbermouth too, so a good job I'm not in charge of the secret😁

Yes. Exactly. Grin
CarnivorousYoni · 26/07/2020 09:43

Well, as much as it's frustrating, it may be that something was about to break and there are good reasons why it was pushed back a little. I don't think Fair Cop were deliberately dangling a carrot just to snatch it away. Maybe they are just as frustrated as anyone at not being able to go public.

Spero · 26/07/2020 09:43

Hello all. I do a lot of work for Fair Cop - for free. In my own time.

Harry Miller has also put his money where his mouth is. Thanks to him this whole shit storm may now be examined by the Supreme Court.

Satire, humour, teasing are all essential components of human connection. If you don't like Fair Cop's style then your remedy is simple and obvious. Don't engage. Get your own case to the Supreme Court and as you go conduct yourself with sober piety.

AnyOldPrion · 26/07/2020 09:48

I love Fair Cop.

Looking forward to the big reveal when it comes.

CarnivorousYoni · 26/07/2020 09:49

Well, quite.

I've enjoyed the thread anyway.

Spero, I have huge respect for you, Harry and Fair Cop in general - I'm also dying of curiosity and hate waiting but that's my problem, not yours.

Just hope we get to find out soon and nothing's gone wrong?

Spero Cake
Remember when we were all excited there'd be a video of Trump pissing on prostitutes? Those were the days...

BitOfFun · 26/07/2020 09:52

I’m still enjoying the suspenders...

SerenityNowwwww · 26/07/2020 09:52

Arf

Spero · 26/07/2020 09:53

If it goes wrong it doesn't matter. Something else will go right. We fight on.

Sexnotgender · 26/07/2020 09:55

Thank you Spero, I appreciate everything you and Harry and everyone is doing to tackle this behemoth.

Amen (plus, given content of thread, any other equivalent word of religious agreement).

I started the thread because I was excited and looking for info I might have missed, not complaining BTW.
