@FedUpAtHomeTroels

They need a bullhorn, there was someone muttering away near the person filming making some of it hard to hear. Well done to Posie. I hope it does grow and doesn't get shouting down by the TRA's
If you're using Chrome, the automated captioning available from there is decent (the music control widget that looks like a quaver) and is captioning some of the audio.
ScreamingMeMe · 23/05/2021 14:01

The sound gets better as the video goes on.

ScreamingMeMe · 23/05/2021 14:02

@mollythemeerkat

Not so sure about a supportive audience at Speakers Corner. Seem to remember a woman with a camera being called abused as a T..f and attacked in the early days of all this.
Yes, quite. And last time Posie did this, women were bundled into police vans.
Childrenofthestones · 23/05/2021 14:03

Screamingmeme questioned if PP would be allowed at Universities?

Possibly now due to the slowly evolving Government pressure to stop Universities cancelling none woke speakers.

astery · 23/05/2021 14:08

Is she still attacking BLM and telling black women they should care more about single sex space than racism?

Emanchego · 23/05/2021 14:10

I must've watched a completely different video to you, astery Confused

astery · 23/05/2021 14:11

You haven't seen the video of her saying that?

Cleanandpress · 23/05/2021 14:12

Great to see them out there again today.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/05/2021 14:17

Is she still attacking BLM

I'm pretty sure they attacked her first. Didn't you see when they crashed her protest last year and kettled the women?

astery · 23/05/2021 14:23

Yes I watched that video. She started shouting out to the women first. One came over to talk to her. And Posie told her she should care more about women's rights than racism. The woman got angry with what Posie said. And I am not surprised.
There is a reason it is mainly white women who go to her protests and talks.

Mumtwoboys90 · 23/05/2021 14:24

i follow her on Instagram but really surprised she doesnt have a bigger following? it always seems like she is supported on here

astery · 23/05/2021 14:26

MN feminism is not representative of most women or even most feminists.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 23/05/2021 14:33

@astery

Probably not.

However, it sounds like you've done a full-on analysis tho' so I'll be interested to see it. Or are you appointing yourself as a general arbiter on the matter based on your impressions?

Bourbonandcoke · 23/05/2021 14:34

She is very marmite.

Cleanandpress · 23/05/2021 14:34

That's an interesting claim astery, mumsnet is the biggest women's forum in the UK so it would be hard to prove the biggest women's forum is not overall a representation of woman in the UK. Anyway you are only here to repeat the same old white feminism tedium .

Have a read of threads about Allison Bailey, Keria Bell, Sonia Appleby, and Maya Forstarter among others we can mention, who don't fall into the single white demographic you are so upset by, if you don't want to read about the Standing for Women group.

astery · 23/05/2021 14:38

I have read Maya Forstarter who I largely agree with. Like me, she is not a fan of Posie either.

Cleanandpress · 23/05/2021 14:51

I gave up being a "fan" of anyone when I left my teenage years. Now I consider opinions and find some I agree with and some I don't. I don't start categorising in a sort of tribal instinct and asking people to line up behind me or be part of an enemy group.

LorettasBox · 23/05/2021 14:53

That's funny, I met Maya at one of the events Posie helped set up, and she didn't mention that she wasn't a fan. Maybe she was in the wrong place.

astery · 23/05/2021 14:54

@Cleanandpress Posie has plenty of fans.

astery · 23/05/2021 14:55

Anyway white feminism is not for me. I will let you get on with it.

Cleanandpress · 23/05/2021 14:59

Do let Maya know astery.

andyoldlabour · 23/05/2021 15:07

ScreamingMeMe

"Would she be allowed to, though?"

Probably not given the current situation, where extremist youngsters encourage the cancel, deplatform culture, then coerce adults who should know better to call off events.

They seemed to get on quite well when Posie interviewed her a few weeks ago.
MishyJDI · 23/05/2021 15:44

@TinaBarrow

Have watched. Surprised there weren't more there. But well done PP, as usual. And the other women speakers.
Because most people don't like associating with preachers of bigotry and hate....her reinforcing of gender sterotyping does not help the feminist cause trying to pigeon hole us back to sub servience.

I do not stand with Posie Parker. Doesn't look like many do.

The TRA's leave her alone as most I believe see her as a nutbag and not a serious feminist.

But free speech and all of that, and that is what Posie is doing at Speakers Corner, which is perfectly fab! But most thinking people dismiss her as a right wing bigot with a load of stickers....
