And it looks like she wants to set up a campaigning group

I replied on twitter and got an actual like from the actual baroness. I feel all warm and cosy.

NonnyMouse1337 · 15/07/2020 13:41

Thanks for the explanation. There is merit in a broad coalition that can involve women of all political persuasions and none.

Apileofballyhoo · 15/07/2020 13:50

I understand it as a single issue group based on only women are women. I don't know if WPUK are also a single issue group. Forgive my ignorance.

BaronessSnippyPantsofCroneArmy · 15/07/2020 13:53

Women Uniting are a cross party group, formed from all the political pledge groups originally, and now liaise with almost every other major women's group. Here's their most recent press release (completely ignored by the media of course)

My impression is that the Baroness is looking to instigate a 'clean up' operation. Even if Liz Truss delivers everything we want, it is going to take a concerted effort to remove gender ideology from a multitude of government policies and departments. I think it will need a public inquiry.

That's my view. Cleaning up is going to be a huge task. That's why I'm in.

I'm posting the Baroness's tweet in as many places as I can because this is an issue that has always transcended party politics.

Stealhsquirrelnutkin · 15/07/2020 14:17

Has anyone managed to get a message through to the e-mail address given upthread?
I've been trying but keep getting the error message
"Address not found. Your message wasn't delivered to [email protected] because the address couldn't be found or is unable to receive email."
I checked her contact information on the UK parliament website and it says [email protected] which looks like it is for any member of the house of lords and does not go directly to Baroness Nicholson.

TedsFederationRep · 15/07/2020 14:18

It's [email protected]

PopperUppleton · 15/07/2020 15:30

How does one address a Baroness? I want to email her and join up to this army (don't do Twitter)

Kit19 · 15/07/2020 15:32

Your ladyship or dear baroness Nicholson

Kit19 · 15/07/2020 15:32

Or lady Nicholson

"Dear Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne" or "Dear Baroness Nicholson" or just "Dear Lady Nicholson".

Some members of the HoL have particular preferences. She's so non-nonsense, though, that I don't think she minds which.

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 15/07/2020 15:36

Thanks for the heads up.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 15/07/2020 15:37

Shit, I just said "good morning" in my email. I was in a rush!

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 15/07/2020 15:37

I'd need to know more of what she has in mind - is this a non-partisan, single-issue, term-limited action squad?

PopperUppleton · 15/07/2020 15:39

Thanks! Mobilising now...

TedsFederationRep · 15/07/2020 15:39

Shit, I just said "good morning" in my email. I was in a rush!

Don't worry. My betting is that she won't bat an eyelid.

JamieLeeCurtains · 15/07/2020 15:52

I think she's a 'Dear Emma' type tbh.

Stealhsquirrelnutkin · 15/07/2020 16:08

[email protected]

Thanks Teds. That random e had me puzzled for a while, until I realised it probably stands for Emma.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 15/07/2020 16:11

Hope so! Wouldn't want to inadvertently offend.
Impatiens · 15/07/2020 18:06

Just emailed but also messaged via twitter earlier - doubly keen!

PennyNotSoWise · 15/07/2020 18:28

Sorry for being dim, how are you all wording your emails?

I'm not great with words, I feel a bit out of my depth Blush But I feel really strongly about what's happening to us and want to do anything or sign anything that can help make a difference.

Do I just say I'm interested in joining her group? And a thank you to her of course, for listening and caring.

PopperUppleton · 15/07/2020 18:40

Penny that's pretty much what I said, said I'd seen a 'call to arms' on Mumsnet and I'd like to join. Thanked her too. Very brief.

PennyNotSoWise · 15/07/2020 18:45

Thank you Popper. I'm probably overthinking what I need to put, I'll just do it now.

MrsWombat · 15/07/2020 18:55

chng.it/wKPbfrsLxk Just signed the petition mentioned in the press release.

PopperUppleton · 15/07/2020 19:16

I've just had a response from a certain Baroness 😱😇
