I wouldn’t worry too much about India Knight @twoHopes she’s an awful individual. Joyce has been in trouble before for attacking various people and India spent a lot of time threatening to send him round to women on twitter’s houses after they insulted one of her friends. Lovely couple

Eric Joyce is just a thug. He has a long list of previous offences. The only surprise is that he held onto his job for so long.

My old mum - she left school, worked for married and had kids. Not a doctor or psychologist, lawyer or scientist - but she had a bloody inbuilt radar when it came to ‘those men’.

She correctly identified so many who have now been outed as pedophiles, DV types or rapists.

But ‘without evidence’ you can only really watch and keep an eye on such people eh? ‘Hysterical’ women aren’t listened to.

Yes, he’s clearly a thug, but this latest is a very extreme offence. He downloaded Category A footage of a baby and other children being sexually abused.

Ik now has a column in the main paper as well as her beauty column in the mag. Her surname is from one of her stepfathers, Andrew Knight, who is Chair of Times Newspaper Holdings.

She is GC, she’s tweeted and re-tweeted a number of supportive things.

A few GC tweets don’t cut it if she is supporting this dangerous man.

Oh interesting - the Jane Harris info. That explains why IK has been so silent on this issue. In her heart she knows. But her violent, sex offender partner is telling her that sex is irrelevant.

I'm not a fan to be honest but this does make me feel sorry for her. It must be awful to go through what she's going through and to have all your certainties stripped away. I think she might be the kind of woman who clings onto the idea of a thing long after the facts have become clear. Hence apparently standing by her man and hence not being willing to opine on whether men can become women and the transing of children.

I don't know anything about the case but if you open an email that contains images you are downloading that image, unless you have specifically set up your device to not download email images. Is it possible for someone to maliciously send illegal images for that purpose? (Not offering a defence in this case, just interested more widely)

Another downloading images/videos case related to a senior police officer Robyn Williams. She was one of 17 people sent a CSA video over WhatsApp by her sister. She lost her job in the Police and received a community order to complete 200 hours’ unpaid work and is subject to the sex offenders’ notification requirement for five years.

There was much discussion that as the only person taken to court she had been harshly punished because she is black. However, a significant fact, according to the Police, was that the other 16 recipients either immediately deleted the video or contacted the Police while she did neither.

Maybe but it's impossible to know what goes on behind closed doors. There are plenty of women who have stood beside their partners because they were in abusive/coercive relationships. Having been in a coercive control relationship I can attest to how much it can fuck with your brain.

India has been "promoted" to feature in the main columnist's section.

I thought The Times coverage of Joyce yesterday touched lightly on the child pornography and hid it in his CV of drunken violence.

I'm surprised too, Sparkling. The biggest piece of coverage is in the Mail. Maybe the Sundays will have a bit more, though I doubt it. I think the newspapers are playing it down because of IK. The other possibility is that they will let rip once the sentence is handed down.
