Why r/GenderCritical was banned by Reddit

Hi! TRA here! Thought I'd take a quick breather from all the crowing, high-fiving, etc. to throw a lifeline to any actual open-minded critical thinkers wondering why Reddit banned r/gendercritical. Basically, you have 2 options when it comes to what to believe:

1. It's a true conspiracy: silicon valley, hollywood & the media are in the thrall of the well-funded TransAgenda, the need for woke points, child-groomers, women-haters, MRAs, etc. etc.
   

1. r/GenderCritical was hateful - if you want evidence then go to r/GenderCynical which existed to harvest said hatefulness. Read their strictly enforced rules about hate speech, misogyny, anti-feminism, pile-ons, doxxing, etc. (NB: abbreviating "trans exclusionary radical feminist" is not considered hate speech on this subreddit) and then sort their posts by "top" and "all time" and judge for yourself.
   

The trans men, trans women and non-binary people of Reddit do not hate women and do not tolerate abuse. Have a better day. x

So here we go again with women being told what to believe, what to think, how to behave. We mustn't go upsetting anybody now because we gasp disagree! Heavens forbid we have wrongthink! Talk about a repeat of Nazi Germany.

We absolutely will not bow to this hivemind. There are plenty more options what we can and will believe, and you have no place giving out your orders.

um...the two options were pretty much "take it at face value" (it was hateful) or "don't" (hidden agenda) and finished up with "judge for yourself"

I also added 'basically' so by all means feel free to twist yourself into knots of creative thinking. Were the Gestapo this considerate?

I found the GenderCritical subreddit really interesting. A lot of younger women in the US posted their experiences there - women who were living the consequences of the ideology that 'twaw'.

Many of them seem to have moved to saidit now saidit.net/s/GenderCritical/.

They seem more fired up than ever. Lots of delurkers subscribing too.

I find the use of emojis and xxx in TRAs communications passive aggressive and very very funny.

I love a passive aggressive email and even I have something to learn from TRA communication styles. Probably the only thing I have learnt from these folk.

I liked gendercritical. But I can see why it threatened TRAs. The peak trans threads in particular were very educational.

I think, the "educate yourself" retort to people asking questions led a lot of people to that sub. That's how I found it anyway. And obviously that's not the right kind of education, so it had to go.

I miss gendertrender more tbh.

They are building an archive at saidit. I think at least some of the peak trans threads are there.

I never had a look at the reddit GC forum, but am horrified that it was closed down, especially as so many other awful subreddits remains. I have now signed up to the rebuilding site.

Some new posts on it suggest that others think like me.
