But this wasn't just an ill thought out spur of the moment tweet.

This was an article in a magazine.

He wrote:

"Recently, of course, we saw people like JK Rowling using her own sexual assault as justification for discriminating against a group of people who were not responsible for it."

He has asked for that quote to be removed, but the article was posted several days ago. Apparently now that people are asking for his removal from the front bench, he sees his error.

Bravo Kier. 👏

The only news reports I’ve read haven’t really gone into what a charmer he really is. It’s all ‘wah wah wah the we’re so mean to me!’

QuentinWinters · 17/07/2020 08:21

Is this bittersweet irony or a sheer lack of self awareness and arrogance or just plain good old fashioned hypocrisy?
Personally I'd suggest that he's using DARVO - fits with his general attitude

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/DARVO

It is one of the clearest examples of DARVO you ever could see but it doesn’t look good on him. It is very well known that his female colleagues have got very much worse. All he had was some comments on social media saying we don’t agree with you.

I hope Keir finds someone competent to replace him because the environment actually matters and Boris is shit on it.

DARVO is exactly right - the other is why attack JKR at all? It's not his area or responsibility, any more than the Middle East, about which he also seems to know &^ all. He seems to be behaving as a perpetual student rather than a shadow minster.
