Many moons (geddit?) ago I read Anita Roddick's biography and it was clear that some of her initial challenges in setting up the very first Body Shop were to do with her status as a mother (ergo a biological woman) and needing to conform to a male-dominated business world. For example, having no childcare (her husband having gone off to Argentina on an adventure ) so needing to take her two young children to a meeting with a bank manager for a small business loan, where she was promptly turned down. Apparently she was accepted a short time later when she turned up sans children and in a suit. Biological sex matters.

I worked for Body shop briefly back in the 80’s and actually met Anita Roddick, who was very inspirational. I used to love their White Musk perfume.
I haven’t bought from them now for years and won’t ever again. Sold out to a big cosmetics company and lost all their ethics.

If transphobia is expecting womens sport, spaces and scholarships to be open only to biological women, I am transphobic.
