Just seen this on Twitter.

For those who like their Ginger Shampoo, can I suggest MooGoo.

Also, Aveeno is a good replacement for their Shea butter.

Other thoughts welcome. Feel free to suggest other ideas.

OP when you said fallen I initially assumed you meant closing and I wasn't surprised at all.

Looks like a keen intern trying to be twitter relevant.

They're no Yorkshire tea Grin

They were on their way out. This is a last ditch attempt to draw attention to themselves. Pathetic.

Some where in a board meeting a man said ‘ hey guys I know what we can do.. let’s throw our core customers under the bus and open the doors for a tiny minority..’

And five other guys said ‘yeah.... that’s a good idea’

I'm surprised it took so long to be honest. If Anita Roddick had still been alive and at the helm it'd have happened a lot, lot sooner.

Many moons (geddit?) ago I read Anita Roddick's biography and it was clear that some of her initial challenges in setting up the very first Body Shop were to do with her status as a mother (ergo a biological woman) and needing to conform to a male-dominated business world. For example, having no childcare (her husband having gone off to Argentina on an adventure Hmm) so needing to take her two young children to a meeting with a bank manager for a small business loan, where she was promptly turned down. Apparently she was accepted a short time later when she turned up sans children and in a suit. Biological sex matters.

I won't be buying from them again and my dd has said she won't now either

Is there a bodyshop person to contact?

Disgusting misogyny. A company joins in bullying a woman standing up for women.

And the net tightens that little bit more around the transphobes.

Good on you Body Shop!

Is there a list of who we are avoiding or who we are supporting?

I get my soaps, shampoo etc from a small women-run family firm called wild-sage.co.uk & they’re bloody brilliant.

I was uncertain about Jo's tweet but after this...

I'm really angry at the body shop too. Disgusting response.

Transphobic for expecting a company not to attack women? Grow up.

I worked for Body shop briefly back in the 80’s and actually met Anita Roddick, who was very inspirational. I used to love their White Musk perfume.
I haven’t bought from them now for years and won’t ever again. Sold out to a big cosmetics company and lost all their ethics.

Well I've just diverted a not insignificant amount of money away from The Body Shop and bought more JKR books instead. 🖕 to The Body Shop

Ffs. Outrageous to see such blatant trolling by a high street brand. Shock Unbelievable. Happily I shop elsewhere.

So the bulk of their customers, probably a massive percentage, are biological women but they've decided they don't matter?

Feels like a Ratner moment.

When will they learn not to allow the office junior sole control of social media?

Nothing to do with transphobes - I couldn't give a shiny shite what someone chooses to wear, call themselves, whether they are gay straight or bi or really whatever they do within the law. But I won't stand for for woman's rights being degraded.

YouokHun

I didn't realise BS had operated as an MLM for that long.

MLM is an exploitative business model that causes huge losses among the great majority of sign ups, mostly women

Absolutely.

If transphobia is expecting womens sport, spaces and scholarships to be open only to biological women, I am transphobic.

And WOMEN menstruate. If you are a transman, go on the Pill. I am not keen on playing around with your hormones but you can't have it both ways.
