Just seen this on Twitter.

For those who like their Ginger Shampoo, can I suggest MooGoo.

Also, Aveeno is a good replacement for their Shea butter.

Other thoughts welcome. Feel free to suggest other ideas.

I don’t see how the message on the bag is relevant to trans rights?

@Lordfrontpaw

I’m not seeing that tweet.

It’s the Body Shop account, with not that many followers, not the more activeBody Shop UK one

@OhHolyJesus

Don't they belong to L'Oreal?

I hope all the women around the world, in poverty, who farm the ingredients they use for their products which make them profit can identify out of their oppression.

Not any more.

I've just unsubscribed from their mailing list, but was disappointed it didn't ask me why!

Yeah cause a company founded on animal rights being sold to L’Oréal is really an arbiter on correct thought.

The bag is something to do with periods? It's a wild guess, but are they trying to say (cackhandedly, using the bag) that transmen will have periods naturally, so therefore not everyone who menstruates is a woman?

What did the tweet say?

FFS. I am sick of these bloody companies throwing their main customer base under a bus.

Dear Body Shop, I will not be buying from you again.

They are suggesting she needs to shut up and calm down (relax in a bath) and educate herself (read a book on trans rights). The bag is part of what (was) a legitimate campaign to take the stigma out of periods.

So calm down dear and educate yourself.

Fallen!

Aveeno is a dreadful replacement as they still test on animals for all their products. Whereas bodyshop don't. (I realise this isn't the main concern of your post but it might be be others!)

Not used them myself but always assumed that it was a car repair franchise.
Confused

I didn't know that about Aveeno.

The tweet is in the OP but I cropped it too much.

You do realise that you trans-dislikers are not a major base for the Body Shop or any shop and that you're a tiny teenchy minority thankfully?

Report
Cismyfatarse1 · 10/06/2020 19:30

Nothing about trans here. Just a shop trying to shut a woman up and tell her to educate herself.

No one I know dislikes trans people.

The busy shop relies on its loyal customer base, largely teenage girls from the 90s. People like me, and all my friends, all of whom are GC to an extent.

please don’t be fooled by twitter. Most polling shows that at least in the U.K., most people are “transphobic” by the ridiculous standards set.

I’d there a link? I was pissed with already them because they had retweeted something about periods and omitted the word woman bit managed to get the word inclusivity into it.

I scrolled back through their timeline and found a tweet from just a short while ago about period poverty.

It was illustrated with an illustration from Plan International, which directly mentions girls and women.

Pointed this out to them and now it seems to have vanished.

Poof!

That was a speedy deletion--unless it's just me who can't see it up there anymore. Smile
