Just seen this on Twitter.

For those who like their Ginger Shampoo, can I suggest MooGoo.

Also, Aveeno is a good replacement for their Shea butter.

Other thoughts welcome. Feel free to suggest other ideas.

Aw crap they are buddies with the ‘bloody crap period’ people too.

StrangeLookingParasite · 10/06/2020 19:35

You do realise that you trans-dislikers are not a major base for the Body Shop or any shop and that you're a tiny teenchy minority thankfully?

You really need to step out of your bubble.

Cismyfatarse1 · 10/06/2020 19:35

Do you know how the world "moves on"? It is women, with wombs, growing new people to continue human progress.

That is how the world moves on.

Oh, just stop it. You're either wilfully misunderstanding, or just misunderstanding by virtue of not being very bright. Whatever 🤷🏻‍♀️
Cleebope2 · 10/06/2020 19:35

They’re just looking for publicity so that woke girls like my 18 year old DD will share the tweet and find out it exists. Unfortunately my DS 21 and DD 18 won’t support JK and blindly call me transphobic if I raise the debate on the erosion of women’s rights.

GimmeAy · 10/06/2020 19:35

Thankfully, a lot of transgendered people on TV recently. It's just this tiny insignificant corner of the internet that is full of hate. I hope you're never in a position where people can 'hate on you'.

Nobody rise to it, please...
Doyoumind · 10/06/2020 19:37

I think they may have misread the room. Surely their audience is not young woke women but instead those who are more likely to understand what a female is.

lionheart · 10/06/2020 19:37

Phew--found it again. How is this for hypocrisy?

The Body Shop UK
@TheBodyShopUK
Periods are not a luxury Double exclamation mark A report by our friends
@PlanUK
has found that 3 in 10 young women and girls across the UK are struggling to access period products during the COVID19 pandemic, and over half (54%) have been forced to use toilet paper instead. ms.spr.ly/6015T9dUU

That’s just women then. And why ‘thankfully’? When was the last time you saw a trans man on tv?

That’s because that is Plans blurb not theirs.

Saucery · 10/06/2020 19:39

Well, how petty and childish of them.

PenOrPencil · 10/06/2020 19:40

Idiots who I will not buy from again. Honestly, though, they should fire their social media intern.

midgebabe · 10/06/2020 19:40

Yeah trans dislikers are probably a tiny part of the body shop customers
Probably also a tiny minority on here also
Not too sure what the point you were trying to make was?

Kit19 · 10/06/2020 19:41

I’ll be honest, I assumed they already fell ages ago. Haven’t brought from them in years

SwordBilledHummingbird · 10/06/2020 19:41

I'd just started shopping with them again now they're no longer associated with L'Oreal. Won't be now. I actually had a big order planned too.

StandWithYou · 10/06/2020 19:41

They have misread the room. I don’t think they saw JK’s answers piece before reading it. However I think using the pile on and bullying directed to JK as part of a promotion is disgusting. I have emailed and explained why I will never shop there again.

Chloemol · 10/06/2020 19:41

NO ore body shop for me then

Andthenthenewone · 10/06/2020 19:43

Well, they can do what they like with their shop now. I am not buying there anymore. Neither will my family. Hmm

lionheart · 10/06/2020 19:43

They appear a little confused about all this.

redskittleorangeskittle · 10/06/2020 19:44

The Body Shop thinks that a 54 year old woman needs educating about periods.
Okay then.

(Used to buy hemp hand cream religiously but have found that l’occitane Shea works out better value and is much more effective.)

underneaththeash · 10/06/2020 19:44

Eh? I'm not getting their message.
Periods are obviously natural for pre-menopausal women, but not for anyone pertaining to be a woman, but who is really a man.

Artesia · 10/06/2020 19:44

I love the irony. It is bloody natural. But only if you are born female. Otherwise it’s anything but natural....

Fairenuff · 10/06/2020 19:45

Wow, at a time when retailers are suffering their biggest losses, is this really a good marketing move?

YouokHun · 10/06/2020 19:45

*The body shop has been crap for ages, it's a long way from the business Anita Roddick set up.

As others have mentioned since being sold by i'ordeal it now operates as an MLM. It's no friend to women*

@PronounssheRa L’Oreal sold the body shop to the slightly less dreadful Natura BUT it is now in the same stable as another MLM; Avon. Anyone who has bought BS for its anti cruelty stance ought to be worried about that because Avon doesn’t give a shit about animal cruelty. I agree with you, when a company decides to set up an MLM (As BS did in 1994) they are basically abandoning their ethics. MLM is an exploitative business model that causes huge losses among the great majority of sign ups, mostly women.

On that basis nothing a Body Shop does surprises me. They’re big business dressed up a caring and ethical.
