Just seen this on Twitter.

For those who like their Ginger Shampoo, can I suggest MooGoo.

Also, Aveeno is a good replacement for their Shea butter.

Other thoughts welcome. Feel free to suggest other ideas.

I have signed that petition. Sadly I'm not ready to be publicly GC yet so have done it anonymously.

Hi,
I requested that body shop remove any trace of me from their data base. They said they had. I received an email this morning asking me to review my latest purchase (I used spend between £20-£50 there a month).
What words do I need to specifically use to have my data wiped?
Thank you 😊

Just those four magic letters GDPR...
And another three ICO

Thank you so much. PS I’m a big Seinfeld fan too

Hehhehheh.

They joyous part is that they wrote to confirm that your details had been deleted. It’s just too too delicious!

AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 20/06/2020 15:09

So I’ve spoken to The Body Shop again via live chat. They apologised and said they’d rectify my request and do an internal investigation. I asked I was going to find out the outcome and I was given a reference number and told to contact next week and request an update.
I stated I was concerned because I had been asked for
My name
My date of birth
My address
My email
And that after sharing all this info, my request wasn’t fulfilled.

SerenityNowwwww · 20/06/2020 15:14

I’d ask for their complaints procedure too - they don’t actually seem to have one to supply when asked.

Thank you! I’ll ask for that when I follow up and they undoubtedly fob me off
SerenityNowwwww · 20/06/2020 15:22

The when they say ‘we have sent this to the relevant department’ say ‘are you refusing to give me your complaints procedure?’ But only if fly have a few hours spare - I went round and round in circles for over 2 hours with Audible on that one.

I also asked what data was held and where, who had access to it, what it was used for, how long would it be held, etc.

I worked with compliance and legal departments in the city for years. It was a bit of fun.

The petition has been deleted
Why? What happened to it?

There are 492 products that come up now when you type in ‘women’. Didn’t someone say the other day that was 0?

SocialConnection · 21/06/2020 17:54

Yep that was me!! Wow, I wonder if they've had a panic backstage and re categorised everything? It was for women - zero. For men - 60+.

SocialConnection · 21/06/2020 17:57

It may be the default was that Body Shop is already aimed at women and 'for men' was the divergence from the norm. Maybe. I choose to think not...

Iirc AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken Change.org have taken down GC petitions before because according to them women's rights is transphobic. Tldr: they're woke as fuck.

That definitely was the case. I had a look on the day this kicked off out of interest because someone mentioned this was the case. Changed it then huh?
JumpingJoey · 21/06/2020 21:39

Yeay!

JumpingJoey · 21/06/2020 21:41

I hope the person who typed in the horrid bullying post to JKR was the same person who had to add 492 products into the new women category Wink.

MrsKingfisher · 21/06/2020 22:28

Surely they have to now apologise to JK? It's not going well for them on Twitter at all. Perhaps they're hoping we'll all calm down Grin nope.

SerenityNowwwww · 21/06/2020 22:35

They are following the Audible strategy - fingers in ears and wait for the bro-ha-ha to go away. Or not as the case may be.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/06/2020 22:37

had to add 492 products into the new women category

It's hilarious, and gives the lie to their "inclusivity". How transphobic/cissexist to imply that certain products are only for one sex/gender identity? When we cannot leave out any outliers from our descriptors or we lose our woke crown? How sexist they reveal themselves to be.

Redshoeblueshoe · 21/06/2020 22:44

492 Shock but . . . There were none last week Shock

SerenityNowwwww · 21/06/2020 22:48

So they seriously think that will change a thing? Dangle the W word in front of the females and they all forget the monumental slap in the face?

I now think even less of them.

SerenityNowwwww · 21/06/2020 23:13

I wonder how many accounts were closed and how many people have decided not to shop there again.

How could someone keep their job if their boss says ‘well that one tweet cost us xx accounts/customers and that = £xxx p/a’
