Just seen this on Twitter.

For those who like their Ginger Shampoo, can I suggest MooGoo.

Also, Aveeno is a good replacement for their Shea butter.

Other thoughts welcome. Feel free to suggest other ideas.

Oh I did demand they stopped referring to beard stuff as for men because it’s not only men who have facial hair (which is actually truer than men having periods).

justasking111 · 15/06/2020 19:14

Checked out glass door to see how they were as an employer a mixed bag.

MrsKingfisher · 15/06/2020 19:22

I wonder if they're starting to panic yet?!

SerenityNowwwww · 15/06/2020 20:03

No their ears are stuffed with woke cookies. Any shareholders or journalists knocking around?

SwordBilledHummingbird · 15/06/2020 20:32

@Lordamighty

The only product I use from the BS is a facial SPF50 sun cream called Skin Defence, if anyone can recommend an alternative I would be much obliged. I hardly think they will miss my business but every little helps as they say in marketing advertising.
@Lordamighty I'm a bit late to this but in case no-one else has mentioned it, I use Soap & Glory Sunshielf Superfluid SPF50*. It's brilliant, very light and non-greasy. Looks like it's currently on offer too:

*Please no-one tell me Soap & Glory are part of the woke front.

YourVagesty · 15/06/2020 21:18

I wonder if they're starting to panic yet?!

I hope so.

What i'd love to see is them sitting there all smug and woke as the company collapses because their menstruators have taken their money elsewhere.

They'll probably be fine though. I'm sure all the millions of male menstruators will do enough shopping with them to keep them going.

SerenityNowwwww · 15/06/2020 21:22

Now is the season for virtue signalling business to tell us how pride is the season for re-education. How stonewall riot was started by a trans woman (or Latina, or woman as I have seen - and they weren’t talking about Storme). Same companies who ignored international woman’s day.

TheSmelliestHouse · 15/06/2020 21:22

How very rude

Porridgeoat · 15/06/2020 21:36

And it seems the conservatives have more common sense and safeguarding awareness then the body shop, Lib Dem’s, greens and labour. How strange is that!

PamDenick · 15/06/2020 22:03

Yes. I'm finding it very strange that I agree with the Tories on this. I'm usually such a leftie!
I'm gonna take my leftie pennies elsewhere.

Lordamighty · 15/06/2020 22:49

@SwordBilledHummingbird thanks for that, I will save the details for when I run out of BS stuff.

Pluckedpencil · 15/06/2020 22:56

I'm going to buy a JK Rowling book (which was on my list anyway) and never ever step foot in a body shop again (which was not high on my list of things to do anyway). Maybe the Body Shop are so close to being the next high street dodo that they just rant random things that pop into their heads without really thinking through that just possibly quite a lot of women will take umbrage at being described as "menstruaters". It's like being called "baby incubator" or "milk machine". Just fucking horrible and, again, we already have a word for a sex, it's woman thanks.

Cismyfatarse1 · 15/06/2020 22:59

Am in Scotland so shops are still shut but I would be interested to know if employees in individual shops know about this.

Im going to rebuy the harry potter series for my son for his upcoming birthday and start to read them with him

YourVagesty · 16/06/2020 14:01

I was just looking at the comments underneath one of their new postings. twitter.com/TheBodyShop/status/1272527550959489027

Take a look, it makes for great reading.

It's not going away Body Shop!

ChurchOfWokeApostate · 16/06/2020 14:07

That’s a beautiful ratio

MrsJamin · 16/06/2020 14:20

Ooh that's good. They can't get away that easily.

SerenityNowwwww · 16/06/2020 17:40

They appear to be running tweets then deleting them. But it’s not quite working for some reason.

The Body Shop has fallen
Mrsemcgregor · 16/06/2020 17:44

The reply I got from my complaint was a different tone. I didn’t get called a mensturator at least.

334bu · 16/06/2020 17:51

Ex menstruator here . I too got this
reply from my email to CEO Brian Boynton.

" Hello, and thank you for getting in touch with us.

We welcome hearing different points of view and your comments have been heard and noted by us.

From all of us at The Body Shop "

Apology nah!

Mrsemcgregor · 16/06/2020 18:03

Mine was also to the CEO

TedsFederationRep · 16/06/2020 18:15

That's interesting. They've realised that dismissing women as menstruators and dehumanising us by referring to us as a bodily function is just going to increase the ire, especially as they refer to men as 'men' and not sperm producers or other similar nonsense.

Now it's just a very bland bog-off response instead of a misogynistic bog-off response.

I'm not mistaking it for progress though. They're still in the mire.

Willow2017 · 16/06/2020 19:15

Not if I was arse-deep in horse shit and you were the last soap-seller on earth.

No thanks. Received your non-apology today in respect of your inappropriate tweet today telling me that all people menstruate. As you have such a poor understanding of biology why would I trust you with chemistry?

Love these tweets in reply to thier product advert.

Kit19 · 16/06/2020 19:26

It seems not all is well at the body shop 😆

JemimaShore · 16/06/2020 20:05

Do you know what - I don't want to see Body Shop fail, and a load MORE job losses, with everything else going on.

But god - that tweet. I am just FURIOUS for two reasons.

One - them calling us mensruators, and then doubling down on it.

Two - that they see it within their remit to preach to JK Rowling (or any woman!) about this.

It's beyond contempt.

I would be unable to return to Body Shop as a customer - unless they apologise profusely to JK Rowling, with no "sorry but.." caveats, and apologise for calling women "menstruators" - and stop getting involved with political stuff way beyond your remit.

I just cannot shop at a place that disregards women like this. Don't call us menstruators.
