Pro-woman is just a euphemism for transphobic

Littlemeadow123 · 10/06/2020 12:54

Exactly that.

Transgender people are not eroding our rights as women. Although, the people making such spiteful and ignorant comments and talking about trying to stop them getting recognized as women are eroding their rights to be accepted, respected equal. Do you all honestly think that by speaking out AGAINST transgender people, you are going to be declared as heroes?

And what happened to be kind?

I'm not wearing some sort of invisibility cloak.

Have you got one, and if so can I get a lend of it? Always fancied a shot of one of those.

Nousernamehistory · 10/06/2020 13:36

Every time there's a ridiculous thread like this, I automatically associate it with weetabix-related incidents Grin

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 10/06/2020 13:36

This thread is a load of old bollocks, isn’t it? 😂

OhHolyJesus · 10/06/2020 13:36

For you to screen shot OP, for your twitter feed to support your argument that Mumsnet is a hotbed of transphobia...

Is being pro men transphobic? If yes, then why? If not why not?
Is being pro black people anti white people,
Or being pro white people being anti black people?
Is being pro colour blind people being anti sighted people?
Is being pro cat anti dog?

I prefer monochrome to rainbows, am I anti the NHS or anti LGBT because of this?

Littlemeadow123 · 10/06/2020 13:36

@Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel
No, I've been on mumsnet for years and I have seen some very transphobic threads on here over the last couple of days.

OP you are completely right but good luck getting a word in around here.

Datun · 10/06/2020 13:37

Transgender people are not eroding our rights as women.

Go on earth can you possibly mean by 'women'.

Person says rights are not being removed from a group that they cannot even define.

🤣

Datun · 10/06/2020 13:37

*What on earth

Boring old bollocks at that!

Please report any actual transphobia you see.

Well you seemed to have managed it and the OP has posted several times so getting a word in seems easy.

Or did you mean good luck with trying to convince the feminist board to ignore females needs in place of mens wants?

GCAcademic · 10/06/2020 13:41

I've been on mumsnet for years and I have seen some very transphobic threads on here over the last couple of days.

Given that you think that being in favour of women’s rights is transphobic, I’m surprised you’ve only seen “transphobic” threads on here over the last couple of days.

LookAtTheCahhOlivahhhhh · 10/06/2020 13:41

@WhatExit I'm so glad you're here to answer then! @Littlemeadow123 won't.

Do you believe women should continue to have all the rights they currently have in law?

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 10/06/2020 13:42

Wrong. And lazy.

There are shed loads of discussions on MN which explain why many of us are pushing back on trans ideology. If you can be arsed, read them, maybe try and see where others are coming from and share how trans people could help address those concerns?

I'm all ears too if you'd like to share specific, actual rights which trans people are being denied. And FYI "denying their existence" is just over dramatic nonsense so don't bother spouting that.

Oh, and do you hover around places like Twitter and ask those threatening to "Fu&$ TERFS up" to be kind?

Littlemeadow123 · 10/06/2020 13:43

@OhHolyJesus

If 'Pro Men' discriminates against transgender people then yes. If it includes them, then no.

Nothing wrong with being Pro Black, as long as you don't discriminate against white people. If being Pro white means discriminating against black people, then yes, it is bad. As someone who needs glasses, I can honestly say that I am not anti-sighted. My uncle is slightly colour blind and I can say the same for him. Seriously though, that example was ridiculous. As for anti dog and anti cat, it depends who you ask. My dog is definitely pro dog and anti cat, and the neighbour's cat is definitely pro cat and anti dog, but they are just animals. They don't know any better.

My goodness, that collection is kind of eye-opening, isn't it? And not in a good way. I would like someone to pass me the brain bleach now, please.

Deliriumoftheendless · 10/06/2020 13:44

Some people don’t think women or children deserve rights and fair treatment, decency or support.

If you think like that of course you will believe pro women is fake as why would anyone be pro women?

It reminds me of the old animal rights argument where anyone who supported animals had to hate humans. If you can’t understand why one deserves decent treatment then in that person’s head there must be another reason.

Fivefourthree · 10/06/2020 13:44

@Littlemeadow123 how kind do you think all the 'suck my dick' etc tweets are?
Why are women held to different standards than trans activists?

contactusdeletus · 10/06/2020 13:45

Transgender people are not eroding our rights as women.

Yes, they are. In seeking to redefine womanhood as something based on gender, not sex, they are stripping women who don't live by their ideology of all sex-based rights. A.k.a women's rights.

If you open up sex-based rights to include everyone, you do erode them. They can no longer do what they were created to do.

That's the whole problem.

It's not about kindness. It's about the very real issue of sex-based oppression.

I'm not sure. It definitely seems like it as my children seem to be completely oblivious to me sometimes!
DickKerrLadies · 10/06/2020 13:45

Still no answer? I'll keep waiting.

Deliriumoftheendless · 10/06/2020 13:46

Also the BeKind thing? I know someone who makes a show of supporting that with words, yet regularly lies to our bosses about the rest of the staff as they are actually a spiteful person who likes to pull others down so they are thought better of. So that kind of made me think it’s better to be fair. Which can be hard. As sometimes you need to listen to other’s and have genuine empathy.

Littlemeadow123 · 10/06/2020 13:47

@WhatExit

Thanks honey.

I know it's like banging my head against a 20 metre thick brick wall with most of this lot, but if just one person reads this thread and has a rethink about the way they think and talk about transgender people then it will have been worth it.
