Actually, looking at how they are bashing JKR, it does feel harder to speak out for mere mortals :(

Katy Brand always comes over well on Infinite Monkey Cage (although will she be more Cox or Ince?) and she does seem to think about stuff. I believe she was very Christian in her youth and had to look at that and male her own decisions so it will be interesting to see her take on this. I’m not really a fan of her comedy but she seems thoughtful and decent so I guess she’ll either go with “kindness” or keep quiet. We shall see.

“Going away to have a think” is just a polite way of saying they don’t have the emotional bandwidth to wade into the ‘debate’.

Indeed - where was all the campaigning by pre menopausal girls, post menopausal women, pregnant women, women who have had hysterectomies etc complaining about being excluded from womanhood when people used to write:

‘Women and girls’ instead of ‘people who menstruate’.

That’s right they didn’t.

Is it because they don’t need to ‘identify’ as women because they are women?

i’ve been blocked on facebook by about 10 of my sisters friends for being a terf after reposting an article about JK. They sent me a last message telling me so.

All very woke living in West Coast US. I visit my sis at least once a year...they used tell me they loved my original thinking & that I backed up arguments with evidence & facts.

I think the US/UK cultural divide has never been wider. I posted that mass protests in a pandemic were not a good plan, and US friends freaked out. They don't actually seem to realise everyone else isn't American, for a start ...
