This is astounding. One of the central problems with the cultic elements of the transgender movement is the frequency with which it sets people apart and creates oppositions and divisions via the creation of multiple categories of gender identity, each one of which is proclaimed to be “authentic” and thus real.
Surely the TWAW mantra is a form of cultural appropriation, “woman face” if you like, based on the lie that if you think you are a woman you are a "real woman" (as opposed to a man who identifies as a woman).
This debate about what constitutes a “real woman” is one that is close to my heart and painful for me. When I was trafficked my pimp admonish me, several times a day, for not being a “real woman”. This ongoing gaslighting exacerbated my insecurities about my sex and gender identity and my imposter syndrome, something that I think that all women experience to some degree.
It was thus unsurprising to me to learn that other sex workers I knew at the time experienced similar rebukes and nagging from their pimps. “You’re not a real woman!” is something that pimps and traffickers often say to the women they oppress.
I endured painful and degrading sexual assaults from my pimp as a way of “opening me up” to help to “make me a real woman”. I know other women who experienced the same abuses, in fact they are not uncommon.
Thus, when I subsequently discovered many deeply abusive cults all offering training courses in how to become a "real woman”, how to “open up your femininity” and variations thereof, it was no great surprise to learn that many of these cults had run into legal problems in relation to allegations of the sexual exploitation of women and children in systems of prostitution and pornography.
When I discovered that they promote sexual rituals to “open up” women, but leave women traumatised and suffering from the Stockholm syndrome I understood the dynamics of oppression as I had experienced them personall and directly.
There is a deep vein of misogyny running through the various narratives promoted by these cults. They claim to offer empowerment but they offer only abuse and slavery.
Cultural appropriation is one of the identifying features of these cults.
Typically they claim to be Sufis (usually of the new age / Universal Sufism / synchretic variety), Native American medicine men and women (real Native people loathe them and detest their contribution towards cultural genocide), Hindu (there are plenty of powerful “Godmen” and women in India using modified / synchretic Hindu practices to abuse naive Westerners), Buddhist (where to start there are so many dodgy Buddhist con men and women I would be here all day if I listen them) Siberian shamans (most of these were murdered by Stalin’s goons, the modern variety are mostly linked to serious organised crime) and variations on any religion / spiritual path you like.
This entryist infiltration / astroturfing / cultural appropriation of spiritual movements is a feature of all the cults I study but is also a central feature of the cultic elements of the TRA movement.
All of these movements specialise in astroturfing oppressed groups, appropriating their narratives and adorning themselves with the cloak of victimhood (a cloak that they do not have the right to wear), so as to deflect criticism and claim the moral high ground. It is simply DARVO
