This, and I see it's been mentioned
'People try to trip you up or give you a shove. I’ve had rocks thrown at me and been punched. Three times in the last year, someone has threatened me with a knife. It got so bad that I bought a stab vest but I still don’t feel safe.’
Is it GC women doing this?
Also I find the juxtaposition of this, given fae's activity around loosening the laws around extreme porn, a bit disharmonious.
This is the UK definition of extreme porn:
'a desire to protect those who participate in the creation of sexual material containing violence, cruelty or degradation, who may be the victim of crime in the making of the material, whether or not they notionally or genuinely consent to take part'
And
'Pornographic ("of such a nature that it must reasonably be assumed to have been produced solely or principally for the purpose of sexual arousal"), and
Grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character, and
Portrays in an explicit and realistic way any of the following:
An act which threatens a person's life, or
An act which results, or is likely to result, in serious injury to a person's anus, breasts or genitals, or
An act which involves sexual interference with a human corpse (necrophilia), or
A person performing an act of intercourse or oral sex with an animal (whether dead or alive) (bestiality), or
An act which involves the non-consensual penetration of a person's vagina, anus or mouth by another with the other person's penis or part of the other person’s body or anything else (rape or assault by penetration) and a reasonable person looking at the image would think that the persons or animals were real.'
Fae believes this law goes to far in limiting freedom of speech/ expression, and is altogether too harsh.
Obviously no one should be abused or have violence meted out to them. However harassment is a regular experience for girls and women from a pretty young age. Sexual assault and rape are hardly rare. I've been threatened by random men more than once. Memorable a man once threw rocks at me on a holiday once. Etc etc.
Girls and women are being increasingly exposed to sexual acts by men who don't get consent first- slapping, hair pulling, spitting, throttling and 'accidentally' having a dick trying to get up their bum when the consent was to vaginal sex. The connection of this with the increased normalisation of these acts in mainstream porn is clearly linked (and I really don't understand those who deny this!).
It just feels that Fae is:
Pro violence of an extreme nature when it's related to sex
Utterly devoid of a knowledge or interest in the harassment and violence that is bread and butter for women and girls in the UK
Why not tackle men on this? Rather than Fae and their ilk continually attacking women who disagree with them?
The other point is that, I have been told more than once, NZ has a very unreconstcted macho male culture. Why do they think things will be better there?
Also, NZ has closed its borders in response to Corona. Their decisive action on this has been on the news all the time. Why does Fae think they will let Fae in?
