It's all over Twitter that Audible have buckled under the TRA pressure to withdraw their advertising from MN. I can't see anything on this board about it? I joined Audible years and years ago because of an advert and a recommendation from other MN users.

I am incredibly unimpressed if this is the case.

Well said lamahaha

Lordfrontpaw · 23/05/2020 15:17

Have you said - or do we guess? You don’t write for mills and boom do you?

Lamahaha · 23/05/2020 16:44

No way!

Lordfrontpaw · 23/05/2020 16:49

She said on a breathy, hesitant way, as his hand slip slowly up her moist, silky thigh...

I got a reply from audible:

Let me quickly help you with it.

I would like to inform that our public relation team is working on it to resolve this and we support all genders and community, there is no such difference between these. I would request you to please allow us sometime till this will get resolved.

We always value customers who are keen to give us their feedback. I will be sure to pass on what you have told me to our development team. We're customer centric company and always make such changes when customer demanded and which is favourable for customer.

Our customer are very important to us and we are hard to ensure you have the best experience with Audible. Your patience and understanding are highly appreciated in this matter.

I hope you understand our limitations over this and co-operate with us.

DC1JackieReid · 23/05/2020 17:20

Could that be a hint of back pedalling?

Lordfrontpaw · 23/05/2020 17:24

Nonono - sorry but it’s just a cut and paste using some of your wording from your communication - I got pretty much 95% of that same wording too! The slight mangling of English is a giveaway.

That’s why it is so frustrating dealing with these people.

DC1JackieReid · 23/05/2020 17:26

Damn. That would’ve been progress.

Lordfrontpaw · 23/05/2020 17:28

Spot the difference (please note, I only ever mentioned ‘parenting website’ and they said they didn’t know what I was taking about):

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you.

I appreciate and value your feedback and we are sorry to hear you are unhappy regarding the cancellation of Audible advertising from Mumsnet and the response you have received on twitter. As there is a dedicated team who take such type of this decision.

Currently we do not have any updates regarding the cancellation of the Audible advertising from the popular support site. Thank you for letting us know about this.

To make things right for you, I have forwarded your feedback to the appropriate department, so that they will read your experience and look into this. Please be assured, once we get any update on this, we will let you know with the details via email. I hope you will not judge us on this one interaction as we always work hard to ensure that your Audible experience will remain positive.

Lordfrontpaw · 23/05/2020 17:29

Hang on - that was the second one - the first one was pretty much the same as the one further up.

Oncewasblueandyellowtwo · 23/05/2020 21:34

Lamahaha How do we buy your books? What name do you write under? Exciting!

Lord

Is the advertising cancelled? Why did they thank you for letting them know about it?

Lordfrontpaw · 23/05/2020 21:38

I asked if sponsorship was being pulled from ‘a parenting site’. It’s just cut and paste or a auto-created wording.

Hulo · 24/05/2020 10:29

They keep popping up as a promoted Tweet on my feed. I've commented.

Lordfrontpaw · 24/05/2020 10:55

Have they deleted your tweets yet? They seem to be adopting the ‘duck and cover with fingers in ears’ approach. I haven’t looked to see if the account of the silly sausage who tweeted the offensive tweet is still locked.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 27/05/2020 14:24

Has anyone heard any more from audible? I've been investigating libro.fm and audiobooks.com to see how they compare.

Lordfrontpaw · 27/05/2020 14:31

Of course not.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 27/05/2020 16:37

Should have known it was a stupid question...🤦‍♀️

middleager · 27/05/2020 16:39

Audible have not replied to my email of about 10 days ago. I paused my account.

I had a marketing email with a survey today about a podcast, so I used that to also highlight this issue.

Lordfrontpaw · 27/05/2020 17:00

I contacted them on the Saturday when this shit kicked off. And several times since. Nada.

Lordfrontpaw · 28/05/2020 08:28

I see the Princes Trust is also supporting mermaids on the same manner.

Don’t people do their research? Don’t they listen to people?

Shedbuilder · 28/05/2020 11:34

Adds the Prince's Trust to the list of captured organisations...

BringbackLang · 28/05/2020 11:51

I love how these companies and organisations are quick to kowtow to a bunch of idiots on twitter and cravenly grovel pathetically at their feet. Yet when people (specifically women) say hang on a minute that's not correct at all, you owe us an apology - we get nothing, nada, zilch.

It's almost as if they forget who their customer base actually is.

##Hint, Audible, it's not the blue-haired brigade and Furries on Twitter ##

Good to know the Prince's Trust has nailed its colours to the mast. I know to avoid them now as they cannot be trusted with safeguarding and child safety.

Lordfrontpaw · 28/05/2020 12:44

I love the way companies will do something daft and a woman will tweet ‘please - what you did/said/represented is sinister/harmful/abusive...’ and are completely ignored.

However if someone else says something they issue a sooky statement saying how they value this part of the community/group, support them 100%, and hate anyone who disagrees with them.

Lordfrontpaw · 28/05/2020 12:54
