It's all over Twitter that Audible have buckled under the TRA pressure to withdraw their advertising from MN. I can't see anything on this board about it? I joined Audible years and years ago because of an advert and a recommendation from other MN users.

I am incredibly unimpressed if this is the case.

Just a weasly email this morning - saying that they have a team addressing the initial query (sponsorship) and a useless response to my data protection query (they have secure servers dontcha know?) which didn’t address the concern of an employee with obvious biases gaining access.

@Lordfrontpaw sorry, I got PILED on by them. They want evidence and are happy (the wee group) to get it selectively or by stealth. I’m a bit raw.

Poor you - but you really can’t engage with some people!

Just amazed they don’t cut out the middle man and just photoshop it. I know they parachute people in to post exactly what they want and take a quick screen shot before it gets deleted.

@BringbackLang basic internet knowledge can get anybody determined back on. It’s a very clever attack to shut women up, I’d believe anything they’re accused of at this point. Definitely the screenshot shows member colours.

Wonder if @MNHQ could take a look at the IP addresses and see which one matches the banned persons?

Of course they can. But if you view incognito then you can avoid it.

Any update from Audible? I forwarded my message on to them again. Tumbleweeds....

I hope they clarify things soon, my account is paused at the moment and I have to decide by 8th June whether to cancel it or allow it to resume. I hope they back down, there are a couple of books that I'm waiting to buy that don't seem to be available from anyone except Audible.

Have Audible said anything? Surely they are just doing what big companies do and ignoring it. Or do we require a confirmation that they are continuing with Mumsnet?

No - of course not.

But they have 'a dedicated team for this comment which were posted over the social media sites and we have already escalated this to them and they are working on it and it will be sorted soon.'

...And they closed my account and gave me all my credits back... I didn't actually implicitly ask them to do this - I merely mentioned that I had credits (I had returned some books in the expectation of closing my accounts and giving these away) and wanted my money back (in an exasperated way since they hadn't actually answered my questions for the third time of asking).

They have asked for my feedback and I gave it to them.

But hey - it seems that you can return your books and ask for your money back.
