Can someone please help me out with pronouns

So how do I stand in terms of the current legislation, if I refer to a person by the pronouns of their birth, rather than their preferred pronouns?

Would it be compelled speech to be forced to collude with a belief that I do not accept? Also, how does my freedom not to be discriminated against because of my beliefs ( ie that people can't change sex) play out against the protections of Gender Reassignment and the trans person's rights as a legal member of the opposite sex ( though not a biological one.)

Would I be acting in a discriminatory way under the EA by referring to a person as their birth sex, when they have transitioned?

I want to be able to articulate my position very clearly, with reference to the law, but I don't actually know where we are as the law stands on competing rights.

Can anyone help me unpick it please?

One might argue that coming to a space where women are trying to have a conversation and angrily instructing them to stop having it is a bit jerk-like.

I don't go along with a fat person who tries to get me to say they are slim.

"I'm sorry but I'm going to have to disagree with everyone and honestly state that you look fat in that dress."

As if. 😂

I think religion is dumb but if someone wants to be referred to as Father or Sister or whatever, I'll just call them what they want.

Would you though? If they were threatening to report you to your employers if you didn't refer to them in the exact way they were dictating? Or were threatening violence? What if they were forcing you to 'Repeat after us: God is real' and failure to comply was deemed as 'bigoted'?

Would you still go along with it? Or would you think 'fuck off, I'll say exactly what I like thanks'.

I would normally just blank someone who wanted a comment on their weight. However, if they harp on or if I am distracted and not remembering social norms I will be honest.

It is unacceptable to try to force someone to lie. It is unacceptable to inflict on women the bigoted gynophobia of asserting that women are not biological reality but instead just a feeling, the parameters of which are decided and defined by males.

And I wouldn't remember what the desired pronouns were anyway tbh. I've got enough going on in my own life and I haven't got the spare headspace for it. It's incredibly narcissistic to think you can control every random person you come across so much that they must centre you and prioritise your whims and demands in every thought they have.
