Transphobic attitudes contradict the good feminism does everyday

Blamonge · 08/04/2020 21:49

Why is there such a large portion of the feminist movement so against trans culture. Trans people have been some of the biggest advocates for supporting allegedly oppressed groups. Why is it suddenly okay to for feminists (a formally oppressed group) to oppress trans people (currently oppressed group) why?

Example for those who're wondering what the hell this looks like.
That looks like beer, which must be horrific false advertising Shock

Thelnebriati · 09/04/2020 00:07

Exciting to find out women are 'formally' oppressed, when did that change?
It hasn't really changed, its more a change along the lines of ''the artist formerly known as Prince'' sort of change.

I do realise its all a bit odd, odd enough to make your head spin.

mummmy2017 · 09/04/2020 00:09

Someone got very ill drinking bubble tea.
The bubbles got stuck in their guts.

FloralBunting · 09/04/2020 00:09

Tinsel, stop having my thoughts, people will think I'm your sock.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 09/04/2020 00:09

Not to mention the choking hazard which is definitely worth it

I've had the "choking hazard" conversation with my bestie about mochi served hot in soup, which is apparently a New Year thing (she's from Japan). Me - So every year people die from eating this and choking on it? Her - Yes. Me - And every year everyone eats it anyway? Her - Nods enthusiastically.

I mean, I suppose Brits do set Christmas pudding on fire, so hey.

Winesalot · 09/04/2020 00:09

I did read that mummy.

Turquoiseeyes · 09/04/2020 00:10

LangCleg was vilified on this very board for her WHB and now all talk is about lumpy tapioca frogspawn cold milky tea.
It's a strange world we're living in but I'll definitely take WBH over frogspawn lumpy milkshake

IAmFleshIAmBone · 09/04/2020 00:11

What's life without a little risk?

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 09/04/2020 00:11

I feel like there might be some highly specific joke about the pink kind, where the punchline is blancminge

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 09/04/2020 00:11

Mind you I would eat tapioca above caviar. That is a texture I cannot handle.

I don't understand the appeal of caviar, never have. Suppose that means I fail the snob test but oh well!

You're are my sock Floral, that says stuff really eloquently, so that in this persona I can just be glib.

Tartyflette · 09/04/2020 00:12

The pink blancmange was supposed to be raspberry or strawberry fkavoured. I quite liked it actually.☺️
You could also get a chocolate flavoured one. Dr Oetker, the German brand, does vanilla and chocolate 'puddings' which are essentially blancmange. They are set with cornflour rather than gelatine.
I think these puddings, like semolina, rice pudding etc. started off as a way to get milk, and calories, into your kids if they wouldn't drink the stuff or were fussy eaters. From a time when childhood deaths and serious illnesses like polio and TB were much more common.

TinselAngel · 09/04/2020 00:13

I also use autocorrect really badly in this persona to baffle people further.

Winesalot · 09/04/2020 00:13

I take it that OP is never coming back with any answers.... sigh.

I did like remembering that my mum loved hot Weetbix and sliced banana though. So, that was a lovely reminder.

FloralBunting · 09/04/2020 00:13

I don't know about anyone else, but this lockdown I have mostly been thinking about all the nice food I'm not eating, so it's made a refreshing change to think about slime pudding and cups of cold milky tea with fish eggs and fruit juice in it.

Which I will also not be eating.

Sushiroller · 09/04/2020 00:14

Formally opressed

😂😂😂😂

MrsTerryPratchett · 09/04/2020 00:15

It hasn't really changed, its more a change along the lines of ''the artist formerly known as Prince'' sort of change.

I read through multiple fucking pages of slime to make that joke and someone beat me to it. Bastard.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 09/04/2020 00:16

I'm not sure why the what I now realize was tapioca with jam was unacceptable but the big tapioca balls in bubble tea are fine. Maybe because discrete pieces rather than gooey and looks like sperm?

(It really did, at least to my 14 year old self.)

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 09/04/2020 00:16

To come back to OP and their complete genuine and not in the least bit goady query, attached pics.

Your theory may be correct, Tartyflette, they merely meant I ate more tinned fruit.
I probably got all my calcium from tinned pilchards so I don't think I was exactly a fussy eater.ConfusedGrin

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 09/04/2020 00:18

On Buzz's point, I would suggest that if what you're doing is a legit civil rights movement then you probably don't find yourself needing to threaten people with festively decorated baseball bats.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/04/2020 00:19

I wouldn't bother tbh, buzz, the most interesting thing about the OP turned out to be their name.

TinselAngel · 09/04/2020 00:20

I always assumed that the bubbles in bubble tea are like those bath pearl things with a squishy dissolvable plastic outer and a liquid / gel centre (but smaller), is that not the case?

Zhuleva · 09/04/2020 00:20

Women are the most systematically oppressed group in the history of humankind. No matter the race or culture, the women always come out worse. And now there are men (and their handmaidens) who are trying to demolish the very definition of ‘woman’. It’s the ultimate act of misogyny.
